摘要: A multi-axis computer controlled machine tool for relief grinding of single and multiple start threaded hobs (46). The machine comprises an angular oriented spindle (65) that can be angularly (swivel) positioned thereby providing the flexibility to utilize both cup- shaped grinding wheels (55) and pencil-shaped grinding wheels (52) for grinding of hob and milling cutter relieved tooth geometry without exchanging grinding spindles assemblies or modifying the machine construction to accommodate two types of grinding methods or utilizing an additional machine axis for the spindle re-orientation.

摘要: The invention concerns a method and a device for regrinding straight and helically grooved tools by means of a positioning head which is provided with a feeler pin which engages in a groove and is disposed in front of the grinding disc in the advance direction. In order that the tool can be reground over its entire length, a positioning head with two feeler pins is used. The first feeler pin, which runs in front of the grinding disc, is withdrawn from the groove before the latter tapers off or, if the groove profile remains constant, this feeler pin runs out into the open. The second feeler pin, which is rigidly connected to the positioning head, follows the grinding disc and continues to guide the headstock sleeve when the first feeler pin has left the groove.
