In a work area (43) of the tyre bead-forming machine (42), on each of two axially opposite zones of the carcass sleeve, a respective annular anchoring structure (6) is fit and each of the abovementioned zones is turned up around the respective annular anchoring structure (6) to form the beads (5). The aforesaid opening (34) allows an operator to conduct a visual inspection of the work area (43) and/or access the work area (43) during the entire work cycle of the machine 42.
