    摘要: A printhead for a dot matrix impact printer comprises a stack of thin printing blades each including a flat spiral coil mounted in a rim which is in turn connected by flexible mounting arms to a mounting portion. Each blade has an arcuate printing arm extending from one side of the rim thereof and carrying a stylus, with the printing arms of adjacent blades being curved in opposite directions so as to provide therebetween a large separation area to prevent wicking ofinkfrom the styli to the coils of the blades. Each print arm carries a stabilizing member extending from the concave side thereof, with the stabilizing members of adjacent blades overlapping for cooperation to divide the separation area between said blades into inner and outer regions, the outer region serving to block particulate debris and isolate it from the inner regions thereby to prevent interference with the anti-wicking function of the inner regions.

    摘要: Flat, stackable printing blades (60) for use in an impact printer head of the dot-matrix type, each including a conductive coil (95) fastened within a central aperture (63) of a conductive frame having a pair of arms (67, 68) resiliently connecting the coil frame to a stationary mounting portion (70). The mounting portion and the coil-retaining frame are split with one of a pair of coil leads (95a, 95b) attached to each of the pair of electrically-isolated blade members (62c, 62d) thus formed, for facilitating a flow of current from one portion of the mounting tab (80b), through one resilient arm (67) and the coil (95), and thence through the remaining resilient arm (68) to the remaining portion of the mounting tab (80a). A stack of blades, having printing tips (89) extending from the frame in a common direction, is arrayed to form a dot-matrix-type printhead.

    摘要: A mechanism for a matrix printer has a robust single turn closed loop transformer secondary winding (3) as the moving part for driving a print stylus (9) into and out of a print position. Each secondary winding (3) threads a transformer core (1) on which is wound a multiturn primary winding (2). A stack of such secondary windings (3), arranged with print styli (9) in a closely spaced print row across the stack are supported in a static magnetic field produced by a magnetic assembly (10). Energisation of a primary winding (2) induces a large current flow in its secondary winding (3) which reacts with the field to drive the associated print stylus (9) into the print position. In one embodiment, the stack of secondary windings (3) are all mounted on a single pivot (6) and each swings about the pivot (6) as a whole upon energisation of its associated primary winding (2). In another embodiment each secondary loop of the stack is formed so as to be elastically deformable whereby a portion of the loop carrying the stylus is deflected into the print position upon energisation of its associated primary winding.
