    摘要: A multi-pen type plotter printer is disclosed in which a desired character or graphic pattern is produced on the monitor paper by a selected one of a number of pens (9) arranged on a carriage (1) in accordance with an information signal. A hammer (14) is slidably and pivotally disposed on the carriage (1) for actuating the selected pen (9) into contact with the surface of the paper for plotting while the carriage and the platen (3) are moved. A blade member (4) is pivotally disposed which has a dimension wider than the width of the effective plotting range and is rotated in either direction to rotate the pusher means (14) in the same relative direction so as to cause the pusher means (14) to move toward and away from the pen (9).

    摘要: A pivoting means for pivoting back and forth a mechanical load (24) such as a print hammer about a given axis and within a low amplitude angle includes two elongated leaf springs (14, 16). The leaf springs are located in planes at a given angle with respect to each other but both planes being perpendicular to the plane of pivotation of the mechanical load. A frame (22) fixed relative to the pivotable mechanical load is used for attaching the extremities (21a, 21, 21c, 21d) of both elongated leaf springs. The mechanical load is attached to both leaf springs equidistant from their attached extremities. A power source (30) pivots the mechanical load from its rest position to its work or print position causing the two leaf springs to be flexed in torsion. The torsion flexing generates a return torque for self restoring the mechanical load back to its original position.

    摘要: An impact printer is provided having a rotatably mounted print member (22) such as a daisy wheel member which has an array of characters (27) arranged around its periphery and a print hammer (32) operable to impact selected ones of said type characters against a printing medium (13) at a selected print position (26). The print member is readily removable and replaceable without moving the print hammer or any other significant portion of the printer apparatus through the expedient of mounting the print member in a position whereat the curve of rotation formed by rotating each selected character through the print position extends above the print position. With this arrangement, the print member may be easily removed and replaced without moving the standard print hammer assembly (31) which does not extend substantially above the print position.

    摘要: An impact mechanism for use in an impact printer, to deliver a printing force to drive a character element 22 against a platen 10 by means of a print tip 18 movable toward and away from the platen. A rockable bail bar 26 having an axis of rotation substantially parallel to the axis of the platen is constrained to limited angular movement toward and away from the platen by a prime mover 27 connected to the bail bar. A push rod 30 interconnects the print tip 18 and the bail bar 26 for delivering impact forces to the platen 10 as the bail bar is moved toward the platen. The push rod is normally coupled 28, 34, 36 to the bail bar for delivering impact forces to the platen and may be decoupled from the bail bar for drawing the print tip away from the platen so as to allow the character element 22 to be removed. A decoupling mechanism 54, 62 is provided to lift the push rod off of the bail bar and to recouple it to the bail bar as required.
