摘要： A security device for the spare wheel of a vehicle comprises a main body portion (1) having a main cylindrical part (3) adapted to pass through the central aperture of a wheel. An annular flange (5) is provided at one end and is larger than the wheel aperture so that it cannot pass therethrough. Spring means (13) are extensible radially outwardly from the cylindrical part (3) for engaging the rim of the wheel aperture to retain the main body portion (1) in the wheel aperture. Threaded means (17) are provided in the main body portion (3) and bolt means (23) are adapted to pass through an aperture in a suitable part of the vehicle but having a head (25) too large to pass therethrough. The bolt (23) cooperates with the threaded part (17) in the main body (1) so as to retain the vehicle wheel against the said suitable part of the vehicle.

摘要： A security device (7) for the spare wheel (5) of a vehicle comprises a base portion (9) adapted to be seated against one side of a wheel. Connector means (15) is carried by the base portion (9) and is adapted to pass through an existing aperture in the wheel. The connector means has a threaded bore (31) therein, into which an attachment bolt (33) is threadable, the threaded part of the bolt (33) being adapted to pass through an aperture (43) in a suitable part of the vehicle while the bolt head (49) is prevented from passing through the aperture (43), thereby securing the wheel to that part of the vehicle.

摘要： A vehicle alarm system (10) includes a control unit (12), a number of door contacts or switches (13, 14, 15) connected as inputs to the control unit (12), the switches including a spare wheel sensor (14) and a battery sensor (15), and a spare wheel locking mechanism (16) connected to the control unit (12) as an output amongst others. The locking mechanism (16) has an actuator in the form of an electric motor (36) which is configured slideably to displace a locking pin (37) between an open position and a closed position in which the pin (37) engages a spare wheel hoist (26) of the vehicle hence preventing unauthorised lowering/removal of the spare wheel. If the alarm is armed, the sensor (14) will detect when an attempt is made to loosen the wheel and in response thereto a siren (19) will be sounded and the locking mechanism (16) locked.
