摘要: An escalator apparatus for moving an endless chain with many steps connected is structured so that in the section where the chain is mated with sprockets, the moving track of the connection portions of the steps with the chain is positioned outside the rotation track of the outer periphery of the teeth of the sprockets.
By use of such a constitution, there is no need to set the teeth of the sprockets to a multiple of the number of chain pitches between the connection portions of the steps with the chain. Therefore, the degree of freedom of selection of sprockets is increased, and sprockets smaller than conventional sprockets can be used, and the thickness of an escalator apparatus can be made smaller.

摘要: A step platform (12) for an escalator having a step chain (20) with a plurality of axles is provided comprising a lower step (42) attached to an axle (66) of the step chain, a higher step (48) attached to an axle (78) of the step chain and having a middle section (52), and apparatus for actuating the middle section. The actuating apparatus is operated by the rotation of the step chain axles in the transition zones between the landings (26,28) and the inclined midsection (30) of the escalator.

摘要: A sloping transportation apparatus in which a step for carrying a large-sized object periodically appears without requiring any successive operation and which yet constitutes no hindrance to ordinary passengers' standing, ascent or descent. An enlarged step, of which the tread face has a run large enough to place a large-sized object such as a wheelchair thereon, is preceded and followed by at least one reduced step having a tread face with a reduced run (where ordinary steps have a run of 400 mm, 500 mm or 600 mm, the enlarged step is preceded and followed by three, two or one reduced step, respectively), to absorb the excess of the run of the enlarged step so that the steps may be equally joined in a horizontal straight traveling section. Also, a step structure for coupling each tread face to supporting rollers is provided. An auxiliary wheel is additionally provided to reinforce the support for the enlarged step, and the shape of a step guide surface is determined such that the steps do not interfere with peripheral parts in a turning section. The structure is applicable to an apparatus of the type in which the steps circulate in two ways with horizontal orientation of the tread faces thereof maintained throughout the entire traveling course. The enlarged tread face may have a recess formed therein as a wheel stopper for receiving the ground-touching portions of wheels.

摘要: A dual-purpose escalator for a wheelchair (4) including a plurality of steps (9) linked in an endless form and a main-frame (1) having a running path for the steps. The steps include a plurality of specialized steps (10, 11, 12) for loading a wheelchair (4). The escalator further includes an activating apparatus (31) provided on the running path for causing the specialized steps to alter a configuration thereof to a first state for a wheelchair loading operation mode or to restore the configuration to a second state for normal operation mode. Each of the specialized steps includes a toothed rotor (14, 30). The activating apparatus includes an engagement member (13a, 31) for engaging with the toothed rotor. Each of the toothed rotors is rotated by engaging with the engagement member for causing one of the specialized steps to alter the configuration to the first state when the steps are running in the running path in the wheelchair loading operation mode, respectively. The engagement member includes a base (32) and a plurality of pins (33) set in parallel on the base (32) at a specified pitch for engaging with the toothed rotor (30). The pin (33a) engaging firstly with the toothed rotor is set on the base (32) so as to be capable of relative displacement from the toothed rotor (30).

摘要: A tread for mounting a wheelchair or the like consists of three continuous treadboards (1, 2 and 3). The treadboards (1 and 3), which are disposed in front and at the back of the central treadboard (2) are each constituted by main bodies of treadboards (10, 30) and floating treadboards (11, 31) which are separated from the main bodies of treadboards (10, 30). During normal running of an escalator, the main bodies of treadboards (10, 30) and the floating treadboards (11, 31) are joined to each other and run integrally in the same manner as a regular escalator. When a wheelchair or the like is mounted thereon, the floating treadboards (11, 31) are joined to the central treadboard (2) and the floating treadboards (11, 31) are integrated and move in the form of one and the same plane, so that a wheel chair or the like can be mounted thereon.
