In dem Verfahren zur Herstellung von Acetylen und Blausäure wird Acrylnitril einer Pyrolyse in einem Reaktor unterworfen, wobei insbesondere die bei der Pyrolyse gebildeten gasförmigen Reaktionsprodukte sofort, vorteilhafterweise im Sekundenbereich, bevorzugt innerhalb von ≤ 1 s, nach Verlassen der Pyrolysezone auf Temperaturen kleiner 100°C abgeschreckt werden.
