The invention relates to a dirt-resistant, aqueous coating composition which is used to seal surface pores and which maintains the high luster finish of the outer surface. According to the invention, the layer deposited on the surface, which remains thereon after application, can be easily removed using mechanical methods. The inventive composition comprises: a liquid polymer which is obtained by the polymerisation of a mixture containing hexanediol diacrylate and pentaerythritol tri/tetraacrylate or the derivatives thereof, an acrylic monomer (ethyl diacrylate), a surface additive (polydimethylsiloxane copolymer modified with polyester), an antifoaming agent (alkylbenzene modified with methoxypropyl acetate), a photoinitiator (benzophenone), and an aliphatic alcohol solvent (methanol). The sealing method comprises the following steps consisting of: drying the pre-glazed substrate, applying the organic product using a spatula, passing same through an ultraviolet radiation tunnel, leaving the polymer to mature, and removing the residual polymer from the surface of the tile with brushes.

The present invention relates to a method for dying ceramic surfaces, whereby a mixed phase pigment is produced on the surface layer of the ceramic mass. Said pigment consists of a colorless metal oxide that crystallizes in a spinel or turile grating used as host grating, and an aqueous dying solution containing a soluble compound of a bivalent or trivalent metal ion, which dyes the host grid, and a soluble compound of a pentavalent or hexavalent metal ion for electrostatic balancing. According to the invention, this is done by either incorporating the finely divided colorless oxide to the ceramic mass and applying the aqueous solution to the surface layer, or by mixing the aqueous dying solution with a sufficient amount of a soluble host-grating forming compound which forms the metal ions of the host grating and applying said mixture to the ceramic surface. Once the solvant has dried, the ceramic body is baked at a temperature of 300 to 1,400 °C during 0.5 to 5 hours.

The deposition of ceramic coatings on combustible substrates by electrostatic processes using coating powders has so far been expensive and the quality of the coatings has been unsatisfactory. The invention overcomes these problems. The coating powder of the invention consits of a powdered stovable material with a d90 of under 35 νm, a d50 in the range from 5 to 25 g(m)m and a d10 of 2 νm or over and a physically or chemically activable powdered organic material. The coating process comprises the electrostatic application of the coating powder, the physical or chemical activation of the bonding agent and stoving the coated substrate. Fautless coatings are obtained.

The subject of the present invention is manufacturing decorative ceramic material representing antique tile properties. The manufacturing process in present invention has four steps. The first step is; manufacturing of quartz based body, the second step is; manufacturing of a slip which is compatible with quartz based body, the third step is; under glaze decoration applications with the colours obtained by using inorganic oxides, the fourth step is; the application of a frit based glaze, The first step is composed of a manufacturing method of glassy body which is to be used as tile substrate (Iznik tiles). The mentioned body is produced by mixing clay and fluxes to the quartz homogeneously, forming and sintering. The composition of this body is given by weight as; 8-12 % clay, 12-15 % flux, 70-80 % quartz. The second step is composed of a manufacturing method of a quartz based slip which has a 30 % water content by weight, application of this slip on a body produced in the first step, firing at 900-1000 °C and as a result obtaining a sintered glassy substrate. The third step is composed of the application of patterns and under glaze decorations with the colours obtained by using inorganic oxides. The fourth step is composed of application of a frit based transparent glaze on the decorated ceramic surface obtained in the third step, firing at temperatures under 1000 °C. This invention can be used as a decorative material and in restoration applications.

A procedure for decorating ceramic materials produced with inorganic polymers based on the use of a mixed ceramic kiln, with one part for firing the ceramic piece and another part for firing the decorative surface coating. That way, ceramic products with mechanical and aesthetic properties in line with what the ceramic industry is accustomed to today can be achieved with the use of heat treatments at much lower temperatures than is conventional, thus affording considerable energy savings.
