摘要: A method of marking fibers, wherein the method includes providing a plurality of fibers; depositing a marker onto at least a portion of the fibers, the depositing being performed with a delivery mechanism comprising one or more outlets; and thereby marking the fibers. Also provided is a device for marking fibers, including a transport system adapted to transport fibers in a direction of a marker delivery apparatus positioned along the transport system; the delivery apparatus includes one or more outlets, adapted to deposit a solution of the marker through the outlets onto at least a portion of the fibers; and thereby marking the fibers. Authentication of a fibrous material using the marking method of the invention followed obtaining a sample of the marked fibers and assaying the sample for the presence of the nucleic acid marker; and thereby determining whether the fibrous material is authentic or counterfeit.

摘要: A system (10) is provided for treating a mixture (12) containing desired materials (14) and contaminating plastic materials (16) for separation at a subsequent material processing stage. The system (10) comprises a treatment station (18), guiding means (24, 25, 30) for guiding the mixture (12) into the treatment station (18), and heating means (20) for heating a fluid medium flowing in said treatment station (18). The heating means (20) is arranged so that the mixture (12) at said treatment station (18) is heated to a temperature within a predetermined temperature range below melting points of the plastic materials. When heated to that temperature and exposed in the treatment station (18) within a predetermined time period the contaminating plastic materials (16) change their physical characteristics to a form allowing separation a the subsequent material processing stage. The system is particularly useful for removing plastic fibers from natural fibers such as wool, cotton or silk.

摘要: This process is used to optimize yarn quality and maintain it constant in the automatic mixing of bales of different quality. Bales of different quality (1a, ...1b, ...1n) are placed in the transport path (3) of the transfer element (4) of a yarn-transfer device (2) and a yarn sample is taken automatically from each bale (1k) processed by the yarn-removal element (4) and the sample automatically analysed in a measurement and control unit (5). The measured values obtained in this way are continuously compared by a programme in the measurement and control unit (5) with reference values, and the comparative monitoring carried out in this way is used to maintain the mixture parameters constant by controlling the yarn-removal device (2) to remove appropriate amounts of yarn from the various bales of different quality (1a, ...1k, ...1n).

Des balles de différentes qualités (1a, ...1k) sont placées sur le parcours (3) d'un organe d'enlèvement (4) d'un dispositif d'enlèvement des balles (2) et un échantillon de fibres est prélevé automatiquement par l'organe d'enlèvement (4) sur chaque balle (1k) traitée et analysé automatiquement dans un appareil de mesure et de contrôle (5). Les valeurs d'analyse ainsi mesurées sont comparées en permanence à des valeurs de consigne au moyen d'un programme dans l'appareil de mesure et de contrôle (5) et les comparaisons ainsi effectuées en permanence sont employées pour conserver les valeurs de mélange en donnant pour instruction au dispositif d'enlèvement des balles (2) d'enlever des quantités correspondantes dans les balles de différentes qualités (1a, ...1k, ...1n).
