Abstract:
A circular hosiery knitting machine, particularly of the double cylinder type, with yarn finger for plated knitting, comprising at least one needle cylinder and a first yarn finger for dispensing a base yarn and a second yarn finger for dispensing a reinforcement yarn; the dispensing end of the body of the second yarn finger can move on command with respect to the remaining part of the body of the second yarn finger, on a plane that is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the needle cylinder, along a direction that is substantially parallel to the tangent to the needle cylinder in the grip point, by needles, of a reinforcement yarn dispensed by the second yarn finger.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An improved sinker for circular hosiery knitting machines, with high resistance to the danger of damage causable by contiguous needles. The sinker (1) comprises a laminar body (2) which can be arranged on a vertical plane that passes through the axis (3a) of the needle cylinder (3) of a circular hosiery knitting machine between two contiguous needles (7) of the machine which are accommodated in respective axial slots (6) defined on the lateral surface of the needle cylinder (3). Each one of the needles (7) is movable with a reciprocating motion along the corresponding axial slot (6) with respect to the needle cylinder (3). The laminar body (2) has, on its front side, intended to be directed toward the axis (3 a) of the needle cylinder (3), a nose (8) which defines, with its upper side, the knockover plane (9) of the sinker (1). The sides (30) of the laminar body (2), in their regions intended to be superimposed laterally on the paths (12) of the contiguous needles (7) as a result of the reciprocating motion of the needles (7) along the corresponding axial slots (6) of the needle cylinder (3) and of the reciprocating motion of the sinker (1), on its plane of arrangement, toward and away from the axis (3 a) of the needle cylinder (3), have a continuous flat surface.
Abstract:
A knitting machine (101) with latch needles and without sinkers comprising, in at least some of the regions of the needle holder (102) comprised between two contiguous slots (103) which accommodate a corresponding needle (5), a knitting retention element (106) which has a portion (106a) which forms a stop shoulder (107) for the knitting; the knitting retention element (106) can move on command from a first position, in which it does not interfere with the knitting being formed, to a second position, in which it is inserted with the portion (106a) between two contiguous needles (5) in a region which faces the knitting forming plane (104), in order to retain the portion of knitting that lies between two contiguous needles (5), contrasting the entrainment of the knitting along the needles (5) during the extraction motion of the needles from the needle holder (102) to release, onto their shank (5b), the previously formed loop of knitting and/or to engage the yarn delivered at a feed or drop of the machine.

Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention concerns a device for lifting the knitted item made on a circular knitting machine for knitwear and hosiery. It includes a lifting pipe (15) coaxial inside the cylinder, rotating with this, moveable in height between a lowered position and a raised position and bearing a summit bell (16) with a flared lip (19), which extends above the internal sinker crown to the close vicinity of the needles and which has radial slits (20) radially in line with the sinkers. The pipe with the summit bell is raised from the lowered position by dedicated control means to raise the item adjacently close to the needles to be picked.
Abstract:
A readily replaceable restricting member (26) is within an annular receiving channel (24) that is defined by a cylindrical portion (14) of a circular knitting machine, and the restricting member is operative to restrict at least upward or downward movement of the sinkers (12) of the circular knitting machine. The sinkers (12) are operative for reciprocating radially relative to the cylindrical portion (14) and the restricting member (26) such that sliding contact is defined between the sinkers and the biased restricting member. In accordance with several of the embodiments of the present invention, each of the sinkers comprises an upper nib (38) and a lower nib (30), a radially extending slot (46) is defined between the upper nib and the lower nib, and the slot is open at the leading edge of the sinker. In accordance with several embodiments of the present invention, the restricting member is in the travel paths of the sinkers so that the biased restricting member (26) is at least partially received within the radially extending slots (46) in response to the radial reciprocating of the sinkers. In various combinations, upper surfaces (32) of the lower nibs contact the restricting member, lower surfaces (42) of the upper nibs contact the restricting member, and lower surfaces of the sinkers contact the restricting member, so that movement of the sinkers is restricted. In accordance with several embodiments of the present invention, the restricting member is biasedly engaged within the receiving channel (24).
