Rotating hook device for sewing machines, of the type which comprises a needle (A) which moves in a cyclic fashion, a main thread (F) through a fabric, comprising a stationary case which has a first substantially vertical axis of symmetry and is suitable to accommodate a spool of auxiliary thread (F'), a rotating hook (7) which is suitable to engage the loop of main thread (F) in order to wind it around the case (2) and tie it to the auxiliary thread (F') to form a stitch. The hook (7) is fitted so that it can rotate about a second axis which intersects the first one and is inclined with respect to it; supporting devices (12, 13) selectively support the case at its ends. This configuration allows to use spools (S) of auxiliary thread (F') which have a large capacity, reducing downtimes for reloading and considerably increasing the productivity of the sewing machines on which the device is applied.

The invention relates to an embroidery shuttle (1), comprising a bobbin carrier (20) and a bobbin (10), wherein the bobbin (10) comprises at least two spaced apart running surfaces (12, 14) and a bobbin body (16) extends between the running surfaces (12, 14). A rear thread (30) can be wound onto the bobbin body, wherein the bobbin carrier (20) has bearing surfaces (22, 24) for the running surfaces (12, 14), so that the bobbin (10) is rotatably mounted in the embroidery shuttle (1) about an axis of rotation (d). According to the invention, the bobbin carrier (20) essentially prevents a relative movement of the bobbin (10) along the axis of rotation (d).
