摘要: A fender (6) for a vessel (1) for positioning the vessel (1) against a stationary or floating object (2) comprises a resilient front wall (7) having a shock-absorber side (9) for contacting a stationary or floating object (2), a rear wall (8) having a fastening side (10) to be fastened to a vessel (1), an upper side (11), a lower side (12) and a deformation portion (15, 18) disposed between the front wall (7), the rear wall (8), the upper side (11) and the lower side (12). The deformation portion comprises a plurality of resilient connection elements (15) which are fixed to the front wall (7) in respective front wall junctions (16) spaced from each other in a direction parallel to the front wall (7) and the upper side (11), on the one hand, and to the rear wall (8) in respective rear wall junctions (17) spaced from each other in a direction parallel to the rear wall (7) and the upper side (11), on the other hand. Each of the connection elements (15) has a length between the front wall (7) and the rear wall (8) which exceeds the shortest distance between the front wall (7) and the rear wall (8) at its corresponding front wall junction (16) or rear wall junction (17), as measured in a direction from the shock-absorber side (9) to the fastening side (10). The number of front wall junctions (16) as well as the number of rear wall junctions (17) is less than ten per meter, preferably less than seven per meter.

摘要: The invention relates to a fender for use in a waterway, comprising posts that are connected to the waterway' s bottom and guides that are connected to said posts and extending there between. Said guides comprise pre-stressed tensioning members. Suitable tensioning members may comprise cables, chains and bars. The construction is put under tensile load which reduces use of material in comparison to presently applied fenders. The construction is flexible.

摘要: To provide a pneumatic fender whose diameter is capable of being greatly enlarged during use compared with when it is not being used, such as during storage, transport, and the like.
The body portion 2 is configured by laminating a plurality of reinforcing layers 5 between the inner layer rubber 4 and the outer layer rubber 7, the cords 6a, 6b of reinforcing layers 5 that have been laminated adjacent to each other intersect and are arranged at a predetermined cord angle A with respect to the body axial direction, an intermediate rubber layer 8 is interposed between each of the reinforcing layers 5, in an uninflated neutral state the thicknesses of the intermediate rubber layers 8 are 1 mm to 5 mm, and the cord angle A is set to 15° to 45°, so when the interior of the fender 1 is filled with air to the prescribed internal pressure, the cord angle A increases to a static angle while the intermediate rubber layers 8 deform in shear, and the body portion 2 increases in diameter and inflates.

摘要: A fender has a fastening end 2 and a shock-absorbing end 3 and, arranged therebetween, at least one deformation portion 4. The deformation portion 4 is made of an elastically deformable material, especially elastomeric material, and is arranged to fold during deformation of the fender 1, so that surface portions of the deformation portion 4 are folded towards each other. The deformation portion 4 has on at least one surface projections 5 and recesses 6 of such a shape and location that they can engage with each other in a comblike manner when said surface portions of the deformation portion 4 are folded towards each other during deformation of the fender 1.

摘要: A sacrificial impact-absorbing and energy-dissipating structure for protecting marine facilities from the destructive force of an accidental impact by a marine vessel is constructed from a plurality of inexpensive steel pipes or tubular members that are permanently secured together as by welding to form an open three-dimensional cubic framework of plastically deformable material. One or more of the tubular members forming the structure can optionally be filled with water, a rigid foam material and/or wooden elements that will provide additional energy-dissipation capabilities in the event that the containing tube is subjected to a deforming impact. Filler ports, discharge ports, pressure relief plugs, and valves can optionally be provided on one or more of the tubular members.

摘要: A terminal and system for the automatic computerized unloading of containerized cargo from container ships to trucks, railroad cars, other ships and storage. The terminal system is equipped to store or transfer unloaded cargo automatically by using independent container transfer vehicles. The cargo ships are moored between quays of a terminal building constructed in or adjacent to a waterway. Independent container transfer vehicles on an overhead transverse beam system lift a container up and away from a ship transfer to the elevated ground rail system without changing orientation, and then shuttle on elevated ground conveyance rails to other areas of the terminal to distribute the container to the pertinent transportation system (railcar, truck, another ship, or storage). Containers can also be unloaded from trucks and railroad cars and transported to a berthed ship utilizing the same transportation system. Remotely controlled docking modules may be used to guide an incoming ship into the quay and to assist in engaging the ship's hull onto a bow mooring assembly. Side fenders positioned in the quay moor the ship and maintain its position within the dock during cargo transfers. A rapid fueling system refuels the ships. The terminal can be located on land or offshore in any navigable waterway with either an access tunnel or a causeway for truck and rail access from land.

摘要: An elongate or continuous fender having a surface mounting meeting portion and a conjoined fendering body. The meeting portion includes one or more elongate or continuous mounting pieces located alongside the fendering body to create upper and lower shoulders. The shoulders provide one part of a two part fastening with a surface mounting. The mounting piece can be an elongate strip. The fender and surface mounting together form a suitable impact-energy absorbing assembly. The form and shape of the fender provide a secure method of attaching such fenders to a supporting surface without affecting the fendering properties.
