The arm (10) has a shape and dimensions which are complementary to the interspace provided between the plate (7) and the housing (11) to prevent the possibility to access the plate (7) with break-in tools.

The lock further includes a change member (56) movable within the lock between a first position to a second position. The change member (56) can move solely in response to operation of the second key (62). Thus, when the change member (56) is in the first position, the first key (30) operates the lock, and when the change member (56) is in the second position, the first key (30) does not operate the lock. The lock assembly can also employ a change tool (64) that, when inserted into a change slot (88), can move a change ball (56) from the second position back to the first position.

As the slide member (6) moves, one of the pins (28a, 28b, 28c, 28d) which is repelled by the key abuts a stop (43a, 43b, 43c, 43d), which thus causes the respective wheel, and so the other wheels, to rotate. By having wheels (24, 26) of two different sizes, the smaller wheels can be made to rotate more than once before a code is repeated (Figure 8). An abutment (43) is formed by pressing a tang from a stationary wall in the lock. Figures 10 to 14 show variations in which a single wheel may have more than one abutment associated with it so that a magnet pin can be used to change the code when it is in more than one position, and a wheel may have pins of different polarities with respect to the key.

In a recodable lever tumbler lock such as used with a safety deposit box lock, a coding device (17) and a recoding pin of particular configuration are caused to interact with remaining components of the lock mechanism of more conventional instruction. When the lock is activated to its normal retracted position, one end of the coding device functions as a stop abutment and engages a waist portion on the recoding pin whereby another part of the coding device engages a hook means provided on the periphery of a dog (7) included in the lock, and the dog can be rotated only through about 150 ° with the ordinary key. When the lock is to be recoded so as to work with a different key, the lock is first activated to its locking mode with the door open, and the recoding pin is moved to a second end position by manual manipulation. In this second end position, the end (17e) of the coding device is prevented from entering a waist on the pin and therewith enables the dog to be rotated through 180 ° and the key (5) to be replaced with a new key (6). At the end of this locking movement, the coding device is released from its engagement with the fences and recoding of the lock to the new key takes place and the coding device locks the fences (15) in their newly adopted positions. The recoding pin (21) is returned automatically to its normal position.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein umstellbares Schloß (5) für Zimmertüren (1) und Wertbehälter mit zwei dem Management und dem Kunden zugeordneten Schließwerken (21, 23; 22, 24). Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, ein Schloßsystem zu schaffen, das bei hoher Kopiersicherheit ohne Aufwand umstellbar ist und vor allem zur nachträglichen Ausrüstung von Hotelanlagen geeignet ist. Diese Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, daß jedes der Schließwerke (21, 23 und 22, 24) unabhängig vom anderen einen gemeinsamen Riegel oder Fallenriegel (3) betätigt, daß ein mit der Schloßnuß (14) gekoppelter Hauptschieber (13) zwei Mitnehmerstifte (13b, 13c) aufweist, die in die Tourstiftschieber (21, 22) des Management-Schließwerkes und des Kunden-Schließwerkes eingreifen, daß sämtliche Zuhaltungen (24) des Kunden-Schließwerkes mit zusätzlichen trichterförmigen Steueraussparungen (24c) versehen sind und daß ein Zwischenschieber (17) mit Steuerkurve (17a) für den Management-Schlüssel vorgesehen ist, dessen Steuerstift (17c) die Zuhaltungen (24) des Kunden-Schließwerkes ordnet und während der Umstellung auf einen anderen Kunden-Schlüssel festhält.
