摘要: A cutting bit assembly for a mining machine includes a holder having a first surface, a second surface, and a bore extending therebetween, and a bit having a first end and a second end. The bit further includes a tip, a shank, and a shoulder positioned between the tip and the shank. The shank is positioned in the bore of the holder and defines a shank axis. The shoulder engages the first surface of the holder. The shank includes a projection adjacent the second end. The cutting bit assembly also includes a retainer having a groove and a resilient member. The groove engages a portion of the projection. The resilient portion engages the second surface of the holder and biases the retainer along the shank axis and away from the holder.

摘要: An excavation cutting tool holder retention system. The cutting tool holder retention system includes a cutting tool holder having a holder engagement surface and a support block having a tool holder bore into which the cutting tool holder is inserted. A pin having a pin engagement surface is movably mounted to the support block such that the pin engagement surface may be moved to engage the holder engagement surface. At least one of the holder and pin engagement surfaces defines an inclined surface such that when the pin engagement surface is moved to engage the holder engagement surface, the shank portion of the cutting tool holder will be drawn into the tool holder bore. In the preferred embodiment, at least one of the shank portion of the cutting tool holder and tool holder bore is tapered such that the shank portion of the cutting tool holder will be drawn and wedged into the tool holder bore of the support block when the pin engagement surface is moved to engage the holder engagement surface.

Der Kopf (7) des Rundschaftmeißels (1) ist ein Stahlgußkörper, in den eine Hartmetallspitze und der Kopf eines Rundschaftkörpers oder ein Körper mit Innengewinde eingegossen sind, in das ein mit Gewinde versehener Rundschaftkörper einschraubbar ist. Das erfindungsgemäße System zeichnet sich durch geringe Verschleißrate des Meißels, des Meißelhalters und der Halterbox aus.

摘要: Ground engaging bits used in abrasive road grading applications utilizing carbide inserts brazed to the leading face of the steel tip are beneficial on motor grader blades. Commercial road grading bit assemblies use consistent thickness, rectangular carbide inserts brazed to the leading edge of the steel tip. Due to wear and high residual stresses imparted upon the insert from the brazing operation, premature cracking and breaking of the carbide inserts occur. The subject bit arrangement utilizes a carbide insert (14) with a flat rectangular cutting face (30) of non-constant thickness brazed to a leading edge (16) of a steel body (12). The carbide insert (14) has a thickness that increases from the top (25) of the carbide insert (14) and reaches a maximum at the bottom (26) of the steel body (12), where bit wear is the greatest.
