The invention provides a machine for tunnelling in rock. The machine includes a pilot drill assembly for drilling a series of interfering parallel holes or a pilot hole into and generally perpendicular into a rock face and a blast hole drill assembly for drilling a series of blasting holes around the pilot hole or previous blast hole. The machine further includes a charge handling and loading assembly for loading the first series of holes with propellant charges and an ignitor system for igniting the charges. Included further is a rock clearing means for removing the blast rock from the blast face and a rock pick for clearing and picking the floor, roof or walls to provide access for the machine into the tunnel and a mobility assembly for moving the machine forward. Also included is a control console provided with control means for controlling the pilot drill assembly, blast hole drill assembly, charge handling and loading assembly, ignitor system, rock clearing means, the rock pick, a measure system for gas detection and management, a rock stress measure system and recording system.

Apparatus and a method for picking up metal mesh mats and placing metal mesh mats (1) on the walls (2) of tunnels for coating and support. During placement of metal mesh mats (1) on the walls of tunnels the apparatus can modify the shape of the mat (1) to fit the surface of the tunnel, such as bending the mat (1) to fit the shape of a curve shaped tunnel wall (2). The apparatus can be mounted onto a construction equipment or heavy machinery (5) such as a fork lift, caterpillar or crane devices. The apparatus comprises gripping members (7) which grip the top mat from a pile of mats and a telescopic boom for amending the shape of the mat before placing it onto the tunnel wall (2). The device can give the mat (1) a curve shaped in both transversely and lengthwise.

The invention relates to a method and a device for introducing heading supports (1) in parallel to the heading of a tunnel (1) by means of a selective cut heading machine (2). According to the invention, facing mats (18, 19) in the form of rolled mats (20, 21) are provided downstream of the cutting tool (3) of the selective cut heading machine (2) in two traverse planes (14, 15) that are arranged in tandem in the longitudinal direction of the heading in a manner as to be off-set from each other on the periphery. The facing mats (18, 19) are unrolled, simultaneously to the heading, in the longitudinal direction of the heading so as to overlap laterally and are instantly fixed in the rock. Once the facing mats (18, 19) have been entirely unrolled, the working steps are successively repeated with new facing mats (18, 19) that adjoin the facing mats (18, 19) already laid in accordance with the length of the heading. The heading support (7) is introduced at a distance to the cutting tool (3) while fixing the facing mats (18, 19).

Für den Verschluß der offenen Seite umfaßt das Bewehrungselement (1) einen in Längsrichtung gekrümmten Verschlußteil (8), der zumindest einen gebogenen, durch Querstäbe (10) verbundenen Längsstab (9,14) aufweist. Der Verschlußteil (8) wird mit dem Gitterträger (2) kraftschlüssig verbunden, und weist vorzugsweise hiefür aus der Krümmungsfläche hochstehende Verbindungselemente (11,12) auf, an denen Gurt- und/oder Querstäbe (3,4,5) des Gitterträgers (2) festlegbar sind. Das Bewehrungselement (1) weist bevorzugt weiters einen an den Gitterträger (2) anschließenden Bewehrungsmattenstreifen (6) auf, dessen freier Längsrandbereich einen Verschlußteil (8) für einen Gitterträger (2) des anschließenden Bewehrungselementes (1) bildet.
