Abstract:
A scroll fluid device is provided with a toothed ring synchronizer coupled to sprocket teeth provided on each scroll wrap back plate. The coupling between the teeth does not restrict relative axial motion between the scroll wraps and evenly distributes torque loads resulting from forces tending to rotate one wrap relative to the other between the back plates. The ring synchronizer may include internal or external teeth cooperating with adjoining sprocket teeth provided on the scroll back plates.
Abstract:
A scroll fluid device is provided with a synchronizer arrangement that prevents relative rotation between the involute scroll wraps defining fluid working chambers while permitting the wraps to orbit relative to each other to perform work on fluid moved through the device or to expend work through the reaction of fluid moving through the device. The synchronizer comprises axially extending teeth affixed to one of the scroll support end plates interdigited with grooves affixed to the other end plate. The grooves of the synchronizer each have a width that accommodates the orbital excursion of each tooth extending into the groove such that, during orbital movement of one scroll wrap relative to the other, the teeth engage the side walls of the groove to prevent rotation of the scroll wraps relative to each other in either direction. The synchronizer also permits movement of one scroll wrap relative to the other along a line generally extending between the involute centers of the wraps in a direction that reduces the orbit radius.
Abstract:
Abstract:

The at least one drive scroll blade and at least one idler scroll blade (18a, 18b) extend in an axial direction from a first axial edge (50a, 50b) to a second axial edge (51a, 51b), an axial length (L5a) of the drive scroll blade (18a) being equal to an axial length (L5b) of the idler scroll blade (18b), the first axial edge adjacent and in sealing proximity to the first chamber end wall (11) and the second axial edge adjacent and in sealing proximity to the second chamber end wall (13), such that a pressure in the variable volume pump chamber (19) is exerted on both the first chamber end wall (11) and the second chamber end wall (13).
Abstract:
Co-orbiting scroll members (26, 28) are maintained in a fixed angular relationship. Each of the scroll members (26, 28) coacts with anti- rotation structure (24, 30). The scroll members (26, 28) orbit in orbits of different radii.
Abstract:
A scroll-type fluid displacement machine includes first (2) and second (6) scroll bodies that rotate synchronously together, their rotation axes being offset from one another. A cylindrical partition wall (4a) is provided to extend axially in the center of the scroll bodies. A space is provided between scroll vanes of the scroll bodies and the cylindrical partition wall. The interior of the cylindrical partition wall is cooled by air ventilation, and a grease-lubricated Oldham coupling (13,14,15) is disposed inside the cylindrical partition wall. Hence, the Oldham coupling that is made of a metal is prevented from wear and deformation thereof over a long time. The displacement machine requires neither a counterweight nor a pin-crank device. The machine may be oil-free in the fluid compression part of the scroll bodies.
Abstract:
Co-orbiting scroll members (26,28) are maintained in a fixed angular relationship. An anti-rotation structure limits one of the scroll members to orbiting motion with respect to the separator plate (32). In a first embodiment the scroll members (26,28) coact with a common anti-rotation structure (30) while in a second embodiment the other scroll (26) coacts with an anti-rotation structure (130) which coacts with the crankcase (20). The scroll members (26,28) orbit in orbits of different radii.
