The invention concerns a method for controlling the operations of a wind farm having a group of at least two wind turbine generators (WTG's) of asynchronous fixed speed generator type each connected to a frequency controlled WTG Grid by the principle of an electrical torsion shaft. The invention is carried out by collecting reference data/information of individual WTG power production at different wind speeds and different turbine rpm, collecting at least one actual WTG Grid related parameter value, collecting at least one individual operational performance-related value of two or more WTG's, determining, based on said collected values and stored reference data/information, the necessary change of the WTG Grid frequency (collective turbine rpm) for achieving the desired change in collective performance result such as optimizing the power production, avoiding structure/rotor resonance etc. and generating control signals for directly, or indirectly through a Grid Control Device, adjusting the actual WTG Grid frequency. The invention also concerns a system, a control device and a computer program for controlling the operations of the wind farm.

In order to prevent drawbacks such a wear, noise and low efficiency occurring during power transmission using slip rings, the power transmitting means have an asynchronous machine (4) whose stator (5) is arranged in the non-rotating part of the wind power station and whose armature (6) is arranged in the rotor with the purpose of ensuring contactless transmission of electrical power to the rotor.

Die Erfindung sieht vor, dass der Transformator (9) mit zwei Primärwicklungen (91, 92) versehen ist, und der Generator (4) über einen Umschalter (8) je nach Betriebsart mit einer der beiden Primärwicklungen (91, 92) verbunden wird. Damit kann eine Verschiebung der Betriebskennlinie der Windenergieanlage erreicht werden. Somit kann die Kennlinie nach unten hin zu Schwachwindbedingungen verbessert werden, ohne dass dafür der herkömmlicherweise erforderliche Zusatzaufwand anfällt.
