Abstract: An example assembly comprises: a main housing (108); an electric motor (102) disposed in the main housing and comprising a stator (110) fixedly positioned in the main housing, and a rotor (114) positioned within the stator; a hydraulic pump (104) positioned in the main housing and at least partially within the rotor, wherein the hydraulic pump is configured to receive fluid from an inlet port (322) and provide fluid flow to an outlet port (324), wherein the hydraulic pump comprises a pump shaft (316) rotatably coupled to the rotor of the electric motor; a controller housing (134) coupled to the main housing; and a motor controller (106) comprising one or more circuit boards (600, 602) disposed within the controller housing and configured to generate electric current to drive the electric motor.

The turbine engine core (34) is configured to power the fan section (28). The turbine engine core (34) includes a core compressor section (30), a core combustor section (31) and a core turbine section (32). The evaporator (106) is arranged axially along an axis (22) between the fan section (28) and the turbine engine core (34). The condenser (107) is arranged axially along the axis (22) between the fan section (28) and the turbine engine core (34). The core flowpath (52) extends sequentially through the core compressor section (30), the core combustor section (31), the core turbine section (32), the evaporator (106) and the condenser (107). The bypass flowpath (50) is fluidly coupled with and downstream of the fan section (28). The bypass flowpath (50) is radially outboard of and extends axially along the evaporator (106) and the condenser (107).

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to monitor health of a closed loop system in a turbine engine are disclosed. An example apparatus includes non-linear solver circuitry to: iteratively determine a volume of a gas in a system of a turbine engine based on a pressure measurement, a temperature measurement and a constant that corresponds to the gas, the non-linear solver circuitry to iteratively determine the volume of the gas using a thermodynamic state model; and determine a mass of the gas based on the volume of the gas and a volume of the system; optimization circuitry to iteratively determine a mass loss of the gas based on the mass of the gas using a system of equations; and component control circuitry to adjust use of the system of the gas based on the mass loss of the gas.
