    摘要: A screw (10) includes a shank (12) and a thread (14) extending spirally around an outer circumference (16) of the shank (12). The thread (14) includes a plurality of thread convolutions (24), and a plurality of ribs (26) is provided between two adjacent thread convolutions (24) of the thread (14). A helical groove (28) is formed in the outer circumference (16) of the shank (12) and extends continuously across at least partial thread convolutions (24) of the thread (14). The helical groove (28) intersects partial ribs (26), and the helical groove (28) has a width (W2) which is 1.5-2.5 times a width (W1) of the rib (26). The helical groove (28) is used to accommodate residues (32) which are generated with the screw (10) driven in articles (30) to be assembled, allowing rapid insertion of the screw (10) into the articles (30) without reducing the binding force between the screw (10) and the articles (30).

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a tapping screw (1) exerting an excellent anti-loosening effect with regard to a workpiece made of a soft material such as resin and an aluminum alloy. The tapping screw (1) includes a shaft part (3), and a normal thread (10) which is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the shaft part. A clearance groove (20) is formed by cutting out a portion of a ridge of the normal thread, and an engaging protrusion (30) is provided on a bottom of the clearance groove along a portion or an entirety of an edge of the bottom that continuously extends from a flank surface of the normal thread. The tapping screw (1) exerts an excellent anti-loosening effect even when a workpiece expands, contracts or oscillates because the engaging protrusions (30) are embedded into portions of the workpiece which have been embedded into the clearance grooves (20).

    摘要: A screw (3) capable of rapidly drilling and cutting includes two inclined cutting planes (331) with a cutting edge (332) formed on a convergence of the cutting planes (331). A tapered positioning member (333) is extended from the convergence of the cutting planes (331), so that the cutting edge (332) is divided into dual sub cutting edges (3321) by means of the positioning member (333) . Each sub cutting edge (3321) is defined with a certain inclined angle. An included angle ( ¸ 1) included by the sub cutting edges (3321) is smaller than 180 degrees. A plurality of threads (34) spiraling on a shank (31) of the screw (3) further extend to the sub cutting edges (3321) . Setting the positioning member (333) against on an object provides the screw (3) with a steady performance at the first stage of screwing. Subsequently, the sub cutting edges (3321) provides a favorable scraping effect on the object in time of drilling. Thereby, the screwing torque is reduced and the drilling speed is promoted. Preferably, the fastened screw is sunken in the object, and the fastening operation is completed successfully.
