Abstract:
Abstract:
A back pressure regulating valve (10) includes a valve body (14) having a fluid inlet (16), a fluid outlet (18), a central bore (20), a bonnet (22) housing a load spring (24) operatively coupled to a diaphragmn (26), and a chamber (30) in flow communication with the fluid inlet. A valve cartridge (12) includes a housing (34) sized to fit within the central bore and including a first portion (36), a second portion (38), a valve guide (40), and a flow passage (42). A valve seat (44) is disposed in the housing, and a valve plug (44) is shiftable between an open position permitting flow and a closed position preventing flow. The valve plug engages the valve guide, and a spring (52) biases the valve plug toward the open position. A retainer (54) is disposed adjacent the first portion of the housing and engages a portion of the valve plug to retain the valve plug in the housing.
Abstract:
A fluid flow regulator (20) comprising: a fluid inlet port (34) and a fluid outlet port (54); at least one open-faced flow control channel (60) defined by a planar bottom (62) and two sidewalls (64) that communicates with the outlet port (54) at a junction (66) and has a cross-section that decreases with distance from the junction; an elastic diaphragm (40); a support shelf (58) on which the diaphragm (40) seats and which supports the diaphragm (40) along a planar contour parallel to the bottom of each of the at least one channel (60); wherein to regulate fluid flow, with increasing inlet fluid pressure the diaphragm (40) covers portions of the open face that are farther from the junction (66) in a region where the cross-section decreases with distance from the junction (66).
Abstract:
A differential pressure relief valve has a housing with first and second chambers sealed from the atmosphere and separated by an annular diaphragm, with the chambers and the diaphragm being traversed by a sleeve movable with the diaphragm. The first chamber communicates with a primary pressure source through a first channel in the valve housing, and the second chamber communicates with a secondary pressure source through holes provided in the sleeve and through a second channel in the housing. The end of the sleeve remote from the second channel extends from the second chamber to seal with a valve seat. When the primary pressure exceeds the secondary pressure by a predetermined amount, the lower end of the sleeve engages the valve seat. When the primary pressure does not exceed the secondary pressure by the predetermined amount, the lower end of the sleeve does not engage the valve seat, and fluid escapes from the second conduit through the second channel and the sleeve past the valve seat until the differential pressure rises to the predetermined amount.
Abstract:
A dispenser comprising a base unit with an actuation mechanism for dispensing liquid and a refill unit insertible into the base in an inverted configuration with its outlet lowermost to supply liquid to the base. The refill comprises an annular wall projecting into the base and defining an outlet from the refill. The annular wall is closable by a valve element. The base comprises a hollow spigot and an annular seal surrounding and spaced from the spigot whereby insertion of the refill into the base causes the spigot to enter the annular wall and lift the valve element from the annular wall to define a flow path from the refill to the spigot. The base also comprises a proximity sensor and an inclination sensor each of which may independently or jointly trigger the actuation mechanism causing the device to operate to deliver one or more doses of liquid from the dispenser.
