The system comprises a portable chassis for holding the natural gas discharge system and all subcomponents, an inlet port for receiving the natural gas at an inlet pressure higher than a pressure of the receiving location, an expansion valve for regulating pressure of the natural gas to a stable intermediate pressure, a heat exchanger for heating up the cooled natural gas stream as a result of cooling due to expansion, a regulator for regulating a flow of the heated natural gas stream through the heat exchanger and out of the portable natural gas discharge system, and a discharge port for discharging the heated natural gas stream into the receiving location.

A method for inhibiting the formation of clathrate hydrates in a fluid having hydrate forming constituents is disclosed. More specifically, the method can be used in treating a petroleum fluid stream such as natural gas conveyed in a pipe to inhibit the formation of a hydrate restriction in the pipe. The hydrate inhibitors used for practicing the method are substantially water soluble polymers formed from a cyclic imino ether. Such polymers may be ring closed cyclic imino ether ('CIE') polymers, ring opened CIE polymers, or combinations thereof. Some examples of ring opened CIE polymers include various N-acyl polyalkyleneimines produced by cationic polymerization, such as N-acyl substituted polyethyleneimine, N-acyl substituted polypropyleneimine, N-acyl substituted polybutyleneimine, N-acyl substituted polypentyleneimine and copolymers thereof. Ring closed CIE polymers may be derived from free radical or anionic polymerization of 2-alkenyl-2-oxazolines, 2-alkenyl-2-oxazines, and other cyclic imino ethers having an alkene functional group. Also, such ring closed and ring opened CIE polymers can be copolymerized with other substantially water soluble polymers or used in various ratios with other substantially water soluble polymers and copolymers. Preferably, a solvent such as water, brine, alcohol, or mixtures thereof is used to produce an inhibitor solution or mixture to facilitate treatment of the petroleum fluid stream.

A method of and system for restoring flow capacity to a submerged fluid conduit comprising a laser light apparatus to generate blue laser light to be impinged on the fluid conduit. The method and system may include a frequency multiplier for converting infrared laser light from a laser light generator to blue laser light having a higher transmissivity in seawater. In one embodiment, the frequency multiplier may be disposed on a submergible vehicle. In one embodiment, a non-submerged infrared laser light generator supplies, via optical conduits, laser light to a submerged frequency multiplier on the vehicle. Blue laser light, at a wavelength in the range of 440 - 500 nm, is emitted through an optical window and through seawater to impinge on the surface of the fluid conduit. The fluid conduit and the water around the fluid conduit remove heat from the fluid conduit to prevent excessive heating.
