摘要: In prior art reheating furnaces, the products that are to be heated pass through, in sequence, a preheating zone and one or more heating or equalizing zones, in which the products are brought step-by-step to their end temperature that is determined for further processing. In order to reduce the residence time of the products in the furnace space, and thus minimize the risk of scale forming on the product surface, the preheating zone is, according to the invention, equipped at least in certain sections with oxygen-fuel burners which are designed such that the combustion gases issuing therefrom form a flame that, in operation of the device, reaches the surface of the products. Direct flame impingement increases the effectiveness of the heat transfer, and thus reduces the residence time of the products.
