The power plant comprises at least one main air compressor (12), an oxidizer unit (62) configured to deliver a compressed oxygen-rich gas flow (24) to at least one gas turbine assembly. Each assembly comprises a turbine combustor (32) for mixing the compressed oxygen-rich gas flow (24) with a recirculated gas flow (50) and a fuel stream (28) to burn a combustible mixture and form the recirculated gas flow (50). A recirculation loop (52) recirculates the recirculated gas flow (50) from a turbine (34) to a turbine compressor (30). A recirculated gas flow extraction path (63) extracts a portion of the recirculated gas flow (50) and delivers this to a gas separation system (65). The gas separation system (65) separates the second portion of the recirculated gas flow (50) into a nitrogen portion and a carbon dioxide portion.

A saturator (150) is mounted in the fuel duct (130). Reliable operation of said saturator (150) is required for such a gas- and steam turbine unit (1) irrespective of the operation mode of said gasification device (132). In addition, a steam water-heat exchanger (184), mounted on the secondary side of said saturator circuit (132), is fed on its primary side with feeding water (S) drawn from the water-steam circuit (24) of the steam turbine (20).
