摘要: A flash-related function involves flash range indication to indicate when one or more subjects (44) are in the range of a flash (20) and indicate when one or more subjects are not in the range of the flash. The indications may be made to a user on an electronic viewfinder (24) during photograph composition to assist the user in composing a quality photograph. Another flash-related function involves automatically turning on a fill flash when a potential subject is backlight.

摘要: An autofocus system which can prevent erroneous tracking of an unintended tracking target, is provided. In a recognition and tracking mode which uses an AF frame to automatically track a face of a specific person for which certification data is previously stored, a face of a specific person designated by an operator is detected by face authentication processing from a captured image obtained from a television camera . Thereafter, the face is detected from the captured image by a pattern matching processing in which an image of the face is used as a reference pattern for object tracking processing, and the AF frame is moved to the detected position. The face recognition processing is executed each time when the object tracking processing is executed a predetermined times, thereby preventing erroneous tracking by the object tracking processing.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for controlling an image beam path (S2) which is deviated from the film recording optical path (S1) of a film camera (1) and periodically interrupted according to the film camera (1) image-recording frequency. The aim of said invention is to make it possible to continuously adjust the contrast of the viewfinder and avoid the penetration of a diffused light on a motion-picture film (10) when the focusing lens (8) of the viewfinder is open. For this purpose, the image beam path (S2) is interrupted during the motion-picture film (10) exposure time-interval at a constant or variable frequency by means of an optical switching element (6) or deviated from a first imaging plane to at least one second imaging plane or to a light trap at a variable pulse rate. Said optical switching element (6) comprises at least one DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) chip (6) which is disposed in the image beam path (S2) of the camera (1) viewfinder and consists of a plurality of grid-like arranged micromirrors pivotable by an electronic control.

摘要: A plurality of exchange lenses designed for object exposure regions of different sizes can be selectively mounted on the present imaging device. The imaging device determines whether a mismatch state is present, in which the size of the object exposure region of an exchange lens mounted is smaller than the size of the imaging region of an imaging element. If it is determined that a mismatch state is present, an image of a partial region of the imaging region is generated and the image of the partial region is displayed as a live view image in a relatively large area (an area larger than an area for displaying the partial region in a live view display when no mismatch state is present). Accordingly, techniques for performing a live view display with favorable visibility are provided.
