Abstract:
Disclosed is a magnification device for use by blind and/or low vision individuals. The device includes an X-Y table upon which an item to be magnified can be placed. A stationary camera arm and a pivotal monitor arm are oriented over the X-Y table. The monitor arm includes a video monitor pivotally mounted at its distal end. The camera arm also includes two laterally disposed lighting arms. A series of controls are provided along a lower edge of the monitor via a mounting bracket.
Abstract:
A process camera for sucessively reproducing images in a predetermined format has a movable platen (20) carrying a photosensitive member (F) and movable masking plates (48) in front of said platen, the platen and the masking plates being moved according to a predetermined program. The camera has a subject holder (11) receiving originals one at a time and an objective lens (16) focussing the originals on the photosensitive member (F). Four movable masking plates (48) are provided, two at upper and lower settings respectively for substantial vertical movement and two at laterally spaced settings for substantially horizontal movement. The masking plates are moved according to the programmed sequence by a stopping motor to define upper, lower and lateral boundaries of an area within which respective images of the originals are to be reproduced on the photosensitive member (F).
Abstract:
Abstract:
A process camera (1) includes: an original holder (12); a lens for projecting an image of the original on an image forming plane; a frame (2) having an opening (20) defining the image forming plane; a focusing glass (4) attached to the frame (2) movable between a portion covering only a part of the opening of the frame (2) and an open position freeing the opening for forming an image of the original of the surface thereof; a vacuum board (5) for holding a film thereon; and a member for mounting to the frame the vacuum board (5) rotatably around a predetermined axis of rotation between a closed position covering all of the opening (20) and a position covering only a part of the opening (20). Since the area of the focusing glass (4) is selected to be smaller than the area of the opening (20), the area required by the focusing glass (4) at the open position is small. The axis of rotation of the vacuum board (5) is provided crossing the opening (20), but not along sides of the opening (20). The axis of rotation of the vacuum board (5) is provided at a position other than an end portion of the vacuum board (5).

Abstract:
A process for high resolution high accuracy photoreduction of radiographs, a rotatable photographic copy stand for the photoreduction process, and a high resolution high accuracy microfilm reader with built-in measuring capabilities are shown. The photoreduction process employs a camera with high precision optics, a high resolution copy film, and a first developing solution containing 0.014 to 0.025 moles per liter of a 3-pyrazolidone as the primary developing agent plus a lesser amount of a secondary developing agent, in a reversal process, to yield positive images having gamma values of 1.00 to 1.05. The copy stand has multiple workstations (40a, 40b, 40c, 40d) mounted on a rotatable frame, and several lightboxes (34). The microfilm reader employs high precision optics throughout, and possesses a variable magnification objective lens, a beam splitter, ultrawide-angle eyepieces, and a movable measuring reticle, the image of which is superimposed upon the image from the objective lens for accurate measurement of features shown on a film being examined. By means of the disclosed process and apparatus, industrial radiographs or other sorts of X-rays are photoreduced and later reenlarged for reexamination and measurement of selected features, with an overall dimensional accuracy of at least 99.9%.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A process camera apparatus for forming a half-tone image and a line image on a photosensitive material (1) such as a positive or negative film. The apparatus comprises a base (4); a transparent platen (5) provided on the base (4); light-shielding cover (9) covering the upper side of the transparent platen (5). such as to form a light-shielded region on the transparent platen (5); a screen device including a contact screen (6) and a screen frame (37) for supporting the contact screen (6), the screen device being withdrawably disposed on the portion of the transparent platen (5) within the light-shielded region; a pair of rollers (11) disposed adjacent one end of the base (4) and adapted for conveying the photosensitive material (1) into the light-shielded region; and a light-shielded condition maintaining device adapted to maintain the light-shielded condition in the light-shielded region when the screen device is being taken out from the light-shielded region. The apparatus may be provided with a guide plate for guiding the photosensitive material while the same is being fed onto the transparent platen by the pair of rollers.
