    摘要: It is important to control the temperature during the development stage of a photographic process in order to maximise the efficiency thereof. This is a particular problem when photographic materials are processed in high throughput processors which operate with reduced volume chemistry as these material have a tendency to cool the developer solution if not at the correct temperature. Described herein is a method for improving the temperature stability of the material (26) to be processed by heating it before processing. The material is passed through a conditioning chamber (10, 12) where it is heated to the desired processing temperature prior to entering the development stage of a processor.

    摘要: Light-sensitive emulsions comprising silver halide tabular grains and a preparation method thereof are disclosed, wherein said grains, having an average grain thickness of not more than 0.30 µm and a an average aspect ratio of more than 12:1, are covered with colloidal silica sol as a protective colloid. Moreover a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material is disclosed having a support and, provided thereon, at least one hydrophilic colloid layer including at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer coated from at least one light-sensitive emulsion according to this invention. Further a method is given to process a photographic material as described hereinbefore comprising the steps of developing, fixing, rinsing and drying within a total processing time of less than 50 seconds.

    a method of making a concentrated alkaline photo­graphic developer composition, packaged in a single part to be diluted with water to form a ready to use develop­ing solution for silver halide photographic materials, which comprises dihydroxybenzene developing agents, inor­ganic alkali agents, inorganic antioxidant agents, se­questering agents and antifoggants, characterized in that comprises the following steps:

    a) preparing an aqueous KOH concentrated solution having a specific gravity not higher than 1.110 at 20°C,
    b) adding to the resulting solution inorganic anti­oxidant agents which form sulfite anions (SO₃⁻⁻) in aque­ous solution, at least half in moles of which being Na₂S₂O₅ (sodium metabisulfite), in a quantity of from 0.8 to 2 moles per liter,
    c) adding to the resulting solution further aqueous KOH concentrated solution until the specific gravity of the resulting solution is ≧ 1.175 at 20°C,
    d) adding to the resulting solution developing agents in such a quantity that the molecular ratio be­tween said inorganic antioxidant agents and the develop­ing agents is from 1.5 to 4.00, and
    e) adding the other components of the developer com­position in such a quantity to obtain a concentrated de­veloper composition having a specific gravity higher than 1.300 at 20°C.
