    摘要: A system operates to handle and print images from a film slide having a first slide mount and a film segment mounted therein. The system includes a film segment extractor, a scanner, a printer, and a film segment mounter. The extractor extracts the film segment from the first slide mount of the film slide. The scanner scans image data from the film segment. Digital scanning may be performed by a digitizer. The printer prints an image from the scanned image data either optically or digitally. The film segment mounter mounts the film segment into a second slide mount as a second film slide. The second slide mount may be a new slide mount, or may be the original slide mount which is being reused. Magnetically encoded information stored on magnetic material disposed on the first slide mount and/or the film slide is read by respective magnetic readers. The information is then written on magnetic material disposed on the film segment and/or the second slide mount after printing from the film segment.

    摘要: A slide mount has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes an interior region, an edge, and a slot extending from the interior region to the edge. A cavity is formed between the first portion and the second portion, and extends to the first edge, with a film segment in the cavity extracted therefrom by a film extraction system. The film extraction system includes a piston for disengaging a latch mechanism from the film segment. An extractor arm enters the slot to engage a second perforation in the film segment, and slidably moves within the slot to move the film segment through and out of the cavity toward a roller. The film extraction system operates with the slide mount according to a method including the steps of: extending the piston into a locking aperture in the slide mount; disengaging a latch end from a first perforation in the film segment; extending the extractor arm into the extraction slot; engaging a second perforation in the film segment with the extractor arm; and moving the extractor arm through extraction slot to move the film segment out of the cavity.

    摘要: A self-aligning sleever (10) for inserting photograph slides (22) into pockets (24) of an elongated web of sleeving material (26) having a plurality of rows with a predetermined number of pockets per row and spaced from one another by a predetermined row spacing distance. The web of sleeving material (26) is supported for movement in a direction perpendicular to the rows of pockets (24) by a chassis base (32). A slide shuttle (12) removes photograph slides (22) from a hopper (28) and moves the slides to a first position on a slide support. Photograph slides (22) at the first position are moved to second and subsequent positions in a row corresponding to positions of the pockets in the row of slide sleeving material (26). A slide counting mechanism mechanically counts the photograph slides (22) moved to the positions on the slide support. Pocket opening means such as coil springs arc the slide sleeving material (26) to open the pockets (24) of the row into which the photograph slides (22) are to be inserted. A slide pusher (14) is actuated when the predetermined number of slides (22) have been positioned on the support means, and push the slides (22) into the corresponding pockets (24) of the row of sleeving material (26) during a first stroke portion. During a second stroke portion the sleeved row of photograph slides (22) and sleeving material (26) are pushed beyond the pocket opening means by the row spacing distance so as to align a next-adjacent row of pockets (24) with the pocket opening means and slide support. A sleeve clamp (20) clamps the sleeving material (26) with respect to the chassis base (32) during the first stroke portion, and releases the sleeving material (26) during the second stroke portion.
