Auxiliary rhythms are generated and displayed to a user in audio/video form. Once stored in memory along with the rhythms, pitch and power information are extracted from the acoustic signals. The acoustic signals are segmented based on the pitch and/or power information. This segmenting, in essence, divides the acoustic signals into sections each of which can be regarded to form a single level in musical interval. The segments are identified with a level on the axis of absolute musical interval on the basis of the pitch information. Then the results of the foregoing processing are displayed and/or printed.

Another audio input track is manipulated based on the restricted audio input track, and the audio tracks are combined. Conformation of audio to a musical key is also disclosed. The interval between two notes of the audio input are determined and a note corresponding to the second of the note is selected based on a musical key and the interval. Intervals between each note pair of the audio input are summed and each note is scored. A best-match note is selected. The second note of the audio input is conformed into the frequency of the best-match note. Creation of harmonizing tracks includes receiving audio input and harmonizing tracks are created. Each of the harmonizing tracks are transposed. Individual notes are manipulated based on a chord strictness threshold and audio output is provided.
