The invention concerns a construction to attach an acoustical microphone to the bell of a windinstrument. The microphone is suspended with ringshaped elastics (2) in an external ring (3). Springy clamping elements (4) connect the ring to the bell. The elastics are fixed between excisions of the rings (1), that are attached to the microphone, and the hollow cylinders (5) with a slit, that are slipped around cylindrical parts on external ring (3). Due to the elastic attachment of the microphone, mechanical vibration transference from the bell to the microphone is practically ruled out. The elastics are interchangeable without splitting them. This construction prevents damage to windinstruments, because it springs loose when overstrained mechanically and due to soft materials on the parts which are in direct contact with the bell. This construction provides for a stable position of the microphone in relation to the bell, also after repeated mounting and dismounting.

An electronic musical instrument extracts a pitch from an input waveform signal by a pitch extracting circuit (P1 ∼ P6), and directs a sound source circuit (9) to generate a musical tone at the pitch based on the extracted pitch. The sound source circuit (9) electronically generates musical tones at the pitches according to the performance. The pitch extracting circuit (P1 ∼ P6) obtains a fundamental period of the input waveform signal by detecting the time interval (t1) between these first two zero-cross points after two positive peak points of the input waveform signal are detected, by detecting a time interval (t2) between first two zero-cross points after two negative peak points of the input signal waveform are detected, or by detecting both the time intervals (t1, t2).

An electronic audio signal processor especially suitable for electrical instruments such as electric guitars is provided including a controlled distortion and tone alteration portion and a reverb portion. The controlled distortion and tone alteration portion in one form comprises in cascade a compression stage which compresses the amplitude level of an inputted audio signal, a mid band pass filter, a distortion amplifier for adding controlled distortion to said signal and a complex filter having a roll-off of increased attenuation with increased frequency range in the lower and upper audio frequency ranges, and a generally flat response in the middle audio frequency range except with a dip followed by a peak in the upper portion of the mid audio frequency range. The reverb circuit includes a synthetic doubler which provides an output cyclicly varying in pitch from its input and a stereo analog shift register reverb device having two summers which combine staggered adjacent output lines from an analog shift register in different combinations. Two output mixers in conjunction with a switch provide reverb alone, doubling alone or reverb with doubling.
