    摘要: The invention describes an apparatus for software or hardware emulation of acoustic feedback effects. The invention comprises an analog to digital interface (200) for the input, whose output is summed (202) with a feedback of this digital signal passing through an amplifier model (204), a room acoustics model (206) and a string model (210). The summed signal (202) is converted from digital to analog (205) and can then be connected to a standard amplifier. The room acoustic model comprises a volume control (208) where the degree of feedback is controlled, while the string model contains a model (212) of which harmonics to feed back, and finally an algorithm (214) that decides which fundamental frequencies that the incoming digital signal contains.

    摘要: The real drum trigger monitor and tone module is an electronic percussion instrument, satisfying the desire of drummers to have realistic electronic drums with the audible drum sound coming directly from the instrument triggering the sound being heard. The monitor has a speaker subsystem (208, 216) and patch capability (110) mounted within an actual acoustic drum shell (102) having a mesh drumhead (104) and electronic trigger (206). The output of the electronic trigger is fed into an industry recognized tone processor before being fed back to the integrated speaker sub-system (208, 216) mounted in the drum, thereby producing sound coming directly from the drum activating the electronic signal. Alternatively, a traditional electronic percussion instrument may be mounted to the real drum trigger monitor and tone module to provide an integrated drum trigger and speaker monitor.

The excitation device (116, 116') permits the excitation of string vibrations with sufficiently large amplitudes so that the sound-producing body (108) can emit tones with sound levels located at least in the range of known acoustic string instruments. A bridge (112) is placed between the sound-producing body (108) and the at least one string (102) in order to transfer the vibrations of the string to the sound-producing body (108). The electroacoustic musical instrument (101) has the quality of resonance capability or of discrete overtones, and permits a synthesis of the acoustic sound beauty with electronic versatility.

    摘要: With reference to FIG. 7a the present invention relates to transducer apparatus (200) for use with a reed instrument (201) having an air chamber (15) forming a resonant cavity whose resonance characteristics are controlled by opening and closing of tone holes (17A, 17B) connecting the air chamber to the exterior of the reed instrument. The transducer apparatus comprises attachment means (202) for releasably securing the transducer apparatus to a mouthpiece (201) of the reed instrument in place of a reed. A reed replacement section (203) has a housing with an abutment surface for abutting a surface part of the mouthpiece which would be abutted by a reed secured to the mouthpiece. An air passage extends through the housing of the reed replacement section (203) from an air inlet (211) through which a player of the instrument can blow to an air outlet (213) through which air blown by the player is delivered to atmosphere, without passing through the air chamber (15) within the reed instrument. A speaker (208) is supported by the housing and delivers sound to the air chamber (15). An air chamber microphone (209) is supported by the housing and receives sound in the air chamber (15). An electronic processing unit (204) has: an excitation unit (101) which produces an excitation signal for driving the speaker (208); a processor (102) for receiving a measurement signal produced by the microphone and for detecting from the measurement signal a musical note played by the instrument; a synthesizer (220) for generating an electronic signal embodying a musical note which corresponds to the detected musical note; and output means (103) for transmitting the musical note generated by the synthesizer to a receiver external of the transducer apparatus. The invention also relates to a system for representing the sounds of a reed instrument having the components of the transducer apparatus, to an electronic system for determining a musical note played by a reed instrument having the components of the transducer apparatus and to a method of practising playing of a reed instrument comprising use of the components of the transducer apparatus.

    摘要: A sound effects device (10) is used with a guitar (18) having an electromagnetic pickup (20) for inducing feedback into an original signal source for creating a unique musical sound. The device (10) comprises a coil winding (12) which is placed on a hand or wrist of a player (16) for maneuvering the hand in proximity to the guitar pickup (20). In an alternate embodiment, the coil is affixed to a stand and the guitar is maneuvered by the player for placing the guitar pickup close to the coil. The player thus creates new and pleasing sounds by changing relative positions of the guitar and device in proximity to each other thus allowing for an enhanced unrestricted performance.
