摘要:
A dry FCVS for a nuclear reactor containment is provided. The dry FCVS includes a housing and a round and/or elongated aerosol filter inside the housing for removing contaminant aerosols from gas passing through the housing during venting of the containment. The housing includes at least one inlet portion configured for directing gas into the aerosol filter during the venting of the containment and an outlet portion for gas filtered by the aerosol filter during the venting of the containment. The dry filtered containment venting system is arranged and configured such that when a flow of gas through the outlet portion is closed off at least one of convective, radiant and conductive heat transfer removes decay heat of aerosols captured in the aerosol filter.

This disclosure describes nuclear fuel salts usable in certain molten salt reactor designs and related systems and methods. Binary, ternary and quaternary chloride fuel salts of uranium, as well as other fissionable elements, are described. In addition, fuel salts of UCl x F y are disclosed as well as bromide fuel salts. This disclosure also presents methods and systems for manufacturing such fuel salts, for creating salts that reduce corrosion of the reactor components and for creating fuel salts that are not suitable for weapons applications.

It is sought to provide a pressure release system (30) for the containment structure (4) of a nuclear installation (2), which pressure release system permits effective and reliable operation of a wet scrubber (36) for the pressure release flow with a simultaneously compact design, in particular with regard to the amounts of washing fluid (52) that must be kept available. This is achieved according to the invention by means of a pressure release system (30) having • a pressure release line (28) which is guided through the containment structure (4) and which can be closed off by means of a shut-off fitting (26), • a wet scrubber (36), which is connected into a section of the pressure release line (28) situated within the containment structure (4), for the pressure release flow generated during pressure release operation with the shut-off fitting (26) open, • a reservoir (100) which is situated within the containment structure (4) and which is connected in terms of flow to the rest of the interior of the containment structure (4) such that a positive pressure prevailing there in relation to the environment outside the containment structure (4) is at least partially, preferably predominantly or entirely, transmitted to the reservoir (100), and • a feed line (72) which leads from the reservoir (100) to the wet scrubber (36) and which serves for the feed of liquid (14), which acts as washing fluid (52), from the reservoir (100) to the wet scrubber (36), wherein the wet scrubber (36) has a washing fluid vessel (38) which is sealed off with respect to the rest of the interior of the containment structure (4), and wherein a throttle section (102) is formed in a section of the pressure release line (28) upstream of the passage (44) into the washing fluid vessel (38).

Disclosed is a containment filtered venting system (CFVS) for a nuclear power plant, which may include a filtering and venting container which is configured to store the components of the filtered venting system; an inlet pipe which is connected to the filtering and venting container and a reactor building; combined nozzles which are connected to the inlet pipe and are submerged under a filtering solution filled in part of the filtering and venting container; a cyclone separator which is configured to remove larger size substances in droplets and aerosols mixed with the filtering solution from the combined nozzles and guide to a metal filter; a metal filter which is connected to the top of the cyclone separator and is configured to filer impurities mixed in the residual droplets and aerosols; a molecular sieve which is configured to remove organic iodine from exhaust gas filtered by the metal filter; and an outlet pipe which serves to connect the filtering and venting container and a stack.
摘要:
A wet filter for a nuclear reactor primary containment vent that employs an inclined manifold having a plurality of outlets that communicate through a first set of metal fiber filters submerged in a pool of water enclosed within a pressure vessel. A demister suspended above the pool of water to remove any entrained moisture in the filtered effluent before being passed through a second stage of higher density, dry, metal fiber filters connected to a second manifold that communicates with an outlet on the pressure vessel that is connected to an exhaust passage to the atmosphere.

Systems (100, 200, 300, 400) passively eliminate noncondensable gasses from facilities susceptible to damage from combustion of built-up noncondensable gasses, such as H2 and O2 in nuclear power plants, without the need for external power and/or moving parts. Systems include catalyst plates (105) installed in a lower header (53) of the Passive Containment Cooling System (PCCS) condenser (50), a catalyst packing member (205), and/or a catalyst coating (305) on an interior surface of a condensation tube (52) of the PCCS condenser (50) or an annular outlet (54) of the PCCS condenser (50). Structures may have surfaces or hydrophobic elements that inhibit water formation and promote contact with the noncondensable gas. Noncondensable gasses in a nuclear power plant are eliminated by installing and using the systems individually or in combination. An operating pressure of the PCCS condenser may be increased to facilitate recombination of noncondensable gasses therein.
摘要:
In a catalytic reactor, a primary vessel (3) which contains the catalyst bed (1) is heated directly by an electric heating element (5) encircling the vessel. A gas inlet/outlet system for the primary vessel comprises two coaxial pipes, the inner pipe (15) carrying reacted gas leaving the primary vessel and the outer pipe (13) conveying contaminated gas into the primary vessel. The inlet/outlet system is formed into a helix which encircles the primary vessel.
