A plasma display panel comprises a front plate disposed on the side of a viewer, a rear plate disposed in parallel and opposing the front plate, and cell barriers arranged between the front and rear plates of matrix shape or linear shape. The cell barrier is formed of a material including a phosphor. The cell barriers are formed by printing multiple times a phosphor paste containing glass frit in an overlapped manner by a screen printing method. The cell barrier is formed in another method in which a positive pattern of cell barriers are formed on the front or rear plate by using photo resist, a slurry containing a phosphor fills in portions except for the pattern of the photo resist, and the photo resist is thereafter removed to thereby form cell barriers. In the case of the cell barrier of a color display PDP, the cell barrier may be composed of a material containing phosphor of different colors each with a width corresponding to a one half width of the cell barrier.

Ein Plasma-Display besteht aus zwei Platten oder Scheiben (1 und 2) aus elektrisch isolierendem Material, wobei eine Seite auf beiden Platten oder Scheiben (1, 2) eine Struktur mit abwechselnden, parallelen Wällen (3) und Gräben (4) aufweist, und sich in jedem Graben (4) eine metallisch leitende Elektrode (5 und 6) befindet. Die beiden Platten oder Scheiben (1, 2) sind mit ihren strukturierten Seiten so aufeinander gelegt, daß die Wälle (3) in den Strukturen beider Scheiben (1, 2) sich überkreuzen und berühren, so daß durch die sich ebenfalls überkreuzenden Gräben (4) Hohlräume entstehen, welche gegen Außendruck durch die gekreuzten, aufliegenden Wälle (3) mechanisch stabilisiert sind. A panel comprises a porous metal plate which has a plurality of holes used for display cells and made correspondingly to the positions where a first linear electrode group and a second linear electrode group intersect at given intervals, and a front glass plate. The diameters on the display side of the holes of the porous metal plate is larger than those of the back side, and the openings on the back side of the holes are closed with a molten inorganic dielectric substance to seal them hermetically; hence a thin, light and easily-assembled plasma display panel is provided.
