Abstract:
A wireless communication system is disclosed. Disclosed herein are methods for transmitting a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) signal in a wireless communication system, which includes setting transmit power for the PUCCH signal, and an apparatus thereof. If the PUCCH signal is transmitted on a subframe configured for a scheduling request (SR), the PUCCH signal includes one or more hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) bits and an SR bit. When determining the transmit power for the PUCCH, the SR bit is selectively considered depending on whether or not a transport block for an uplink shared channel (UL-SCH) is present in the subframe.
Abstract:
A resource block can include all symbols in a slot for each, generally a multiple of 12, sub-carrier in the resource block. A slot is typically 0.5 milliseconds (ms) and includes 7 symbols for short cyclic prefix (CP) and 6 symbols for long CP. The resource block can include a SRS channel as well as other channels such as an acknowledgement (ACK) channel and a channel quality indication (CQI) channel. Although defined as a separate physical channel the SRS can be multiplex with uplink channels. In accordance therewith, an SRS can be detected in a slot of a 1.0 ms sub-frame constituting two slots, typically one slot but not the other including the SRS. The structure of the slot can be modified to facilitate the multiplexing by, e.g., replacing an existing symbol with the SRS, and a length and a type of a time domain orthogonal spreading code can be determined for each slot as a function of SRS presence.
Abstract:
A base station for use in a wireless network, wherein the base station transmits in a downlink to a plurality of subscriber stations using a plurality of antennas according to a multiple input, multiple-output (MIMO) protocol. During a first downlink subframe, the base station operates in single-user MIMO mode in which the base station transmits a first data subpacket to a first subscriber station using a first antenna and transmits a second data subpacket to the first subscriber station using a second antenna. During a second downlink subframe following the first downlink subframe, the base station operates in multi-user MIMO mode in which the base station transmits a third data subpacket to the first subscriber station using the first antenna and transmits a fourth data subpacket to a second subscriber station using the second antenna.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting information in a wireless system is provided. In this method, the traffic on a plurality of channels can be determined. A bandwidth for a packet can be selected based on the traffic and available channel bandwidths. A modulation and a coding rate can be selected from a plurality of modulations and associated coding rates. The modulation and coding rate can be applied to a segment of the packet, wherein each segment includes one or more bandwidth units. The packet including the selected modulation and coding rate therein can be transmitted on at least one channel.
Abstract:
A method and system for frame formats for MIMO channel measurement exchange is provided. Aspects of a method for communicating information in a communication system may comprise transmitting data via a plurality of radio frequency (RF) channels utilizing a plurality of transmitting antenna, receiving feedback information via at least one of a plurality of RF channels, and modifying a transmission mode based on the feedback information. Aspects of a method for communicating information in a communication system may also comprise receiving data via a plurality of receiving antenna, transmitting feedback information via at least one of the plurality of RF channels, and requesting modification of a transmission mode for the received data in transmitted response messages comprising the feedback information.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure present a technique for designing a signal (SIG) field of a mixed mode preamble transmitted to a plurality of user terminals. The SIG field can signal a number of spatial streams assigned to each user. The SIG field is designed such that a robust interference cancellation can be achieved at each user terminal.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for transmissions and retransmissions of scheduling assignment (SA) information, and for content of SA transmissions. SAs may be transmitted during an initial communications period, followed by data transmissions for a certain time period. A device may monitor for transmissions during the SA period and then monitor for data transmissions during periods indicated in a received SA. SAs may be retransmitted according to a retransmission pattern that may provide time or frequency diversity patterns in order to enhance reception of SAs at a receiving device. Retransmission patterns may be determined based on a resource from an SA resource pool that is used for an initial transmission of the SA.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a method for determining and reporting channel information feedback for multi-carrier operation. In one aspect, channel information feedback parameters may be determined jointly across component carriers, and channel information feedback reports may be generated and reported individually per component carrier.
Abstract:
The link quality reporting method includes measuring link quality for received radio blocks, and if there is a modulation scheme with a largest number of radio blocks, reporting link quality for the modulation scheme, and if there is a plurality of schemes with the same number of radio blocks, reporting link quality for a modulation scheme selected using a predetermined method. Performance deterioration can be minimized in a link adaptation process.
