The device is attached to window blinds headrail with magnets, hooks or other means and the tilter or the cords are put inside the mechanism. The device has a hole where the adaptor is inserted. There are different types of small adaptors for different types of tilters. There is a light sensor for ambient light which might be hidden under semi-transparent plastic or be visible on the enclosure. In the lower part of the drawing the version for vertical blinds is shown. At the side of the verticals there is a metal shaft and the device connects to it with a gear wheel. For verticals, the device is attached to the side of the headrail.

The invention relates to a window (1), in particular, a building window, wherein the window comprises photoluminescent material (2) located within the window. The photoluminescent material (2) is preferentially a phosphorescent material provided on a sun blind which is located within a sealed space (5) between two transparent plates (3, 4) of the window. The photoluminescent material can be charged up by daylight and during the night the photoluminescent material can emanate light. Since the photoluminescent material is located within the window, the photoluminescent material is protected against environmental influences, in particular, against humidity, thereby increasing the lifetime of the photoluminescent material and, thus, of the window. The invention relates further to an object, in particular, a building, comprising the window, thereby giving the object an ambient glow.

The present invention relates to a control system for automatic calibration of a blinds system installed in a room, comprising: a controller (1, 8, 9) having a memory, a clock and a processor, an occupancy sensor (2, 7), an interior light sensor (3, 7), an exterior light sensor (4). The control system is characterized in that the control system is arranged to run an automated calibration of the blinds system when the exterior light sensor indicates an outside light level above a predetermined threshold, the occupancy sensor indicates that no person is present in the room, and a predetermined time has passed since the last calibration. A low-power radio-frequency (RF) receiver is characterized by a decreased current consumption such that the RF received may be used in control devices, such as battery powered motorized window treatments and two-wire dimmer switches. The RF receiver uses an RF sub-sampling technique to check for the RF signals and then put the RF receiver to sleep for a sleep time that is longer than a packet length of a transmitted packet to thus conserve battery power and lengthen the lifetime of the batteries. The RF receiver compares detected RF energy to a detect threshold that may be increased to decrease the sensitivity of the RF receiver and increase the lifetime of the batteries. After detecting that an RF signal is being transmitted, the RF receiver is put to sleep for a snooze time period that is longer than the sleep time and just slightly shorter that the time between two consecutive transmitted packets to further conserve battery power.

An electric light and external light control system for a space with a dual-mode light sensor is proposed. The dual-mode light sensor (106) measures and computes the amount of external light and electrical light incident on its sensing surface. The individual measured light components (total light, electric light and external light) are transmitted to the window treatment controller (103) and the electric light controller (102). The controllers (102, 103) use this information to optimally control the lighting condition to meet user requirements and reduce energy consumption. Both controllers (102, 103) operate concurrently and independently, but are linked via the dual-mode sensor (106).

The invention relates to a control device (10) for use in an ambient light control system (20) for controlling ambient light entering a space (1) through an opening (2). An ambient light prediction unit (11) provides ambient light prediction values, which are predictions of an ambient light property at the opening (2). An ambient light adjusting unit (12) provides, at different ambient light adjusting time points, an ambient light adjusting signal depending on the ambient light prediction values for an upcoming ambient light prediction time period. The ambient light adjusting signal is adapted for use by an ambient light modifying element (22) for modifying the entering of ambient light into the space (1) through the opening (2). By taking the predicted ambient light conditions at the opening (2) into account, necessary adjustments can be made at temporally spaced ambient light adjusting time points, resulting in fewer disturbances of the users.
