Abstract: A rolling-door-type load regulating device and an ocean energy power generating device using the same are described herein. The rolling-door-type load regulating device includes a water guiding unit, a roller spindle, and a driver. The water guiding unit includes at least two water guiding plates connected in parallel. The roller spindle is fixed to one end of the water guiding unit. The driver is connected with the roller spindle and drives the roller spindle to rotate to spread or retract the water guiding unit. The rolling-door-type load regulating device in the invention can regulate the load suffered by the hydraulic turbine. Therefore, the power generated by the ocean energy power generating device can be stably output and be directly used, thereby solving the problem that the output power of the conventional ocean energy power generator has wide fluctuations and poor stability.

One application is an impulse turbine's nozzle valve, which automatically maintains the system pressure essentially constant so that it does not depend on occasional variation of the pumped inflow, resulting that also the jet from the nozzle remains constant and its kinetic energy optimal. The nozzles independently maintain system pressure when the inflow varies.

Abstract: A wave energy converter (WEC) buoy includes at least one pitch-driven WEC (“PDWEC”) device. Each PDWEC device includes two reaction masses which are placed at diametrically opposite ends of a container designed to float along the surface of a body of water and to move in response to the pitching motion of the waves. The reaction masses are interconnected so that when one reaction mass moves up, the diametrically opposed reaction mass moves down, and vice-versa. The movement of the reaction masses drives power take off (PTO) devices to produce useful energy. The reaction masses may be interconnected by any suitable linking system. One or more PDWEC device may be combined with a heave responsive device to produce a WEC buoy which can produce a power output in response to pitch or heave motion.

Abstract: A submersible power plant comprises a structure and a vehicle with a wing. The vehicle is arranged to be secured to the structure by ae tether. The vehicle is arranged to move in a predetermined trajectory by a fluid stream passing the wing. The submersible power plant comprises at least a first turbine, a second turbine and a third turbine being arranged to be attached to the wing of the vehicle. The first turbine is connected to a first generator, the second turbine is connected to a second generator, and the third turbine is connected to a third generator. At least one turbine is attached to the vehicle on a top surface of the wing, and at least one turbine is attached to a bottom surface of the wing. The generators are arranged to be able to produce different fluid dynamics pressures exerted on the respective turbines by torque control.
