摘要： The invention relates to a tool for obliquely severing flower stems, comprising a housing (1) having a passage for inserting a flower stem to be severed and having a cutting blade (4) extending between opposing side walls (2) of said passage, the cutting edge (4a) of said cutting blade (4) being directed into the inserting direction obliquely towards the opposite passage wall (3). According to the invention the cutting blade (4) and the opposite passage wall portion (3) are mounted in such a way relative to each other, that said blade (4) and said wall portion (13) are at a minimum distance one relative to the other in the non-use condition but are permitted, when inserting a stem to be severed, to be pushed apart against a slight spring action.

摘要： A device for opening envelopes which comprises a rotatable shaft (11) having an elongate recess (17) in line with the axis of the shaft. A first cutting blade (18) is located on the top edge of the recess and a second cutting blade (19) is secured to a base (13) which supports the shaft (11). The first and second blades are positioned such that they co-act in a shearing action on rotation of the shaft (11). To open an envelope, the edge of the envelope is positioned within the recess (17) and the shaft (11) is rotated causing the blades (18 & 19) to co-act resulting in a sliver being cut from the envelope.
