The aim of the invention is to provide an assembly aid and a method that enable a hinge to be precisely positioned in a simple and reproducible manner. To this end, the inventive assembly aid is embodied in such a way that there is radial play between the adjusting element (20) and the screw shank (23), and the screw head (21) engages with the adjusting element (20), or, according to the inventive method, an adjusting part (19) is arranged as a primary reference member at a distance from the positioning axis (30), and an adjusting element (20) is fixed in the position thereof as a secondary reference member with radial play in relation to the positioning axis (30).

A peripheral edge (158) of the open frame insert (13) defines a peripheral channel (PC) with a terminal edge (24) of the door frame inner wall (22) for receipt therein of a peripheral securing boss of an elastomeric peripheral seal (15).
