    摘要: The template (2) supports and guides a cutting tool (82) used to cut joint members in two workpieces (62,64) and comprises a support surface (20) and at least one set of guides (22-26) formed on the support surface (20) for guiding the cutting tool (82). The support surface (20) is movable with respect to the workpiece positioning member (14) at a predetermined distance between a first position to cut joint members in one workpiece (62) and a second position to cut complementary joint members in another workpiece (64). This arrangement permits accurate routing of rounded or square finger joints or other types of uniform, spaced joints as determined by the template (2) being used. Moving the template (2) with respect to fixed workpiece positioning members (14) means that no adjustment of the positioning members (14) or workpieces (62,64) is necessary between cutting of complementary joint members on separate workpieces (62,64) which tends to result in more accurate cutting of the joints. In addition, there is disclosed an adjustable guidebush assembly (85) for use with the template (2) to vary the tightness of fit of the joint members.

    摘要: A rotor mountable fixture (30) is used for guiding a cutting tool (62) powered by a hand held air motor to machine a gas turbine engine rotor (10) without removing the rotor from its mountings in the engine. The fixture includes a root (45) having the same contour as a blade root slot of a rotor (10), a base having a platform attached to the root, and a machining guide in the form of a bushing (50) restrained in a guide slot (38) operable to receive and guide a hand held air motor powered cutting tool (62) for machining the rotor. This provides an accurate means to machine a gas turbine engine rotor without removing the rotor from its mounting. The hand held air motor may be used to power a machining tool to cut a blade damper pocket (20) in the dovetail slot of a pressure compressor rotor.
