摘要: A non-contact type tonometer is disclosed. It has an arrangement for transfiguring a cornea to be tested by discharging a fluid to it. This first arrangement comprises a rotary solenoid, a cylinder, and a rotary solenoid driving circuit. It also has a second arrangement for detecting the physical quantity showing the transfiguration of the cornea. The second arrangement comprises a radiating optical system and a detecting optical system. It also has a circuit serving as a third arrangement for detecting the flow pressure of the fluid which has a correlation with an intraocular pressure. It has a fourth arrangement for establishing a correlation function curve between the physical quantity and the flow pressure of the fluid based on the information from the second and third arrangements, deducing a flow pressure value corresponding to the preset value of the physical quantity from the correlation function curve, and converting such deduced flow pressure value of the fluid to an intraocular pressure value.

摘要: A non-contact type tonometer for measuring intraccular pressure of human eye. The tonometer includes a fluid ejection nozzle to eject a fluid toward a cornea of an eye to be tested and an alignment control apparatus. The alignment control apparatus comprises a pair of alignment optional system disposed in such a manner as to intersect the respective optical axes at one point on the axial line of the fluid ejection nozzle and in symmetrical positions with respect to each other, with the axial line of symmetry. The alignment optical system each includes an index projection optical system for projecting an index spot light which is in condition in parallel light rays toward the cornea and an index detection system for forming vertical image of the index spot light produced by means of the corneal specular reflection of the eye on an observation system as an index image through a part of an index projection optical system of the other alignment optical system. Whereby an alignment control between the eye to be tested and the fluid ejection nozzle is made by means of confirming a superposed relation of the pair of index image formed on the observation system.

摘要: Disclosed is a battery powered, hand-held self-contained electronic tonometer with a digital readout for displaying pressure in millimeters of mercury. The tonometer includes a transducer which is a solid state pressure sensitive element and which produces a voltage proportional to intraocular pressure. An electrical waveform is produced by gently bringing the transducer in contact with the cornea. The waveform is converted to a digital signal and processed by a single chip microprocessor. The baseline of a reference signal is nulled by equalizing the charges on two capacitors on the inputs of two differential amplifiers. Equalizing the differential inputs of the two amplifier stages results in a gain of zero and removes any carrier signal. Microprocessor software detects the baseline condition established by equalizing the differential inputs. The microprocessor then looks for a series of valid measurements and calculates the average intraocular pressure along with an estimate of reliability. This average value and the reliability indicator are displayed on a liquid crystal display.

摘要: A system for noninvasively sensing ocular pulses of a mammal, which pulses serve as a basis for indicating presence of a disease or malfunctioning body part such as, for example, a condition of arterial occlusion. The system employs piezoelectric transducers to sense the ocular pulses which are analyzed, also, in the case of arterial occlusion with simultaneously obtained ECG signals.
