摘要: An invasive, fluid velocity measuring wire guide particularly adapted and of a size (less than .030 inch) for subselective placement in the coronary arterial tree, which includes a Doppler mechanism for determining the blood flow velocity in the region of the distal end of the wire guide. Although the wire guide is particularly adapted for diagnosing coronary arterial disease subselectively; it is of such a size and manipulability to be useful in other blood flow and biological fluid flow analyses. Preferably, the wire guide is flexible and steerable for precise placement. The wire guide includes an elongated wire member having a Doppler crystal attached in longitudinal alignment at its distal end. Electrical leads extend from the Doppler crystal along the wire member to the appropriate test equipment for measuring the fluid flow velocity in the region of the Doppler crystal. Preferred embodiments of the Doppler means include piezoelectric crystals and piezoelectric polymers. Also disclosed is a guide wire with a laser Doppler means.

摘要: @ An ultrasonic diagnosing apparatus transmits an ultrasonic wave into a subject under examination, thereby obtaining a tomogram and blood flow information of the subject. This ultrasonic diagnosing apparatus is equipped with an ultrasonic probe (27) provided with a transducer array (5), in which a plurality of ultrasonic transducer elements are arranged, and a Doppler transducer (9) consisting of an ultrasonic transducer independent of this transducer array (5), and switching devices (21, 24) for switching the operation mode of a transmitter/receiver system (12) of the transducer array (5) of this ultrasonic probe (27). The transducer array (5) is used for transmission and reception of the ultrasonic wave when obtaining a tomogram and is used for either the transmission or reception of a continuous ultrasonic wave when obtaining blood flow information. The Doppler transducer (9) provided in the same ultrasonic probe (27) as this transducer array (5) is used for either the transmission or reception of the continuous ultrasonic wave only when obtaining the blood flow information. The operation of the transducer array (5) is switched in a manner such that the transmitting/receiving system of the transducer array (5) is made operative in a different operation mode in response to a control signal output from a control signal generator.

摘要: An ultrasonic blood flow imaging method for two-dimensionally displaying the velocity distribution of a blood flow within a body to be examined is characterized in that the velocity distribution is displayed as a color picture in which the velocity direction is represented by one color when positive and by another different color when negative, and the magnitude of the velocity is represented by varying the brightness of the color concerned. An ultrasonic imaging apparatus for carrying out this method comprises an ultrasonic transmitter/receiver which outputs a tomographic image signal corresponding to a specific region of an object, and an average velocity signal and a velocity deviation signal corresponding to the velocity of blood flow within the specified region. These signals are stored in respective frame memories and then processed by a color processor to produce a color video signal which is input to a color display for displaying a tomographic image, and the velocity and velocity deviation of the blood flow.

摘要: The apparatus described unaliases a Doppler signal which is related to the velocity of blood flowing in a sample volume. It then generates an audio output corresponding to the unaliased Doppler signal. The device generates an unaliased, instantaneous signal which corresponds to the Doppler frequency associated with the blood velocity in the sample volume. That unaliased instantaneous frequency is fed into programmable read only memories (PROMs) which provide digitized values for the sine and cosine functions. Those values are fed into digital-to-analog converters, and they are scaled to provide audio outputs.

摘要: An ultrasonic blood flow imaging forming apparatus is described in which ultrasonic beams are transmitted into and reflected by a living body to color-display the distribution of velocity in a moving member and the properties of the living body's tissue on a CRT screen in the two-dimensional manner. The ultrasonic blood flow imaging apparatus includes a color processing section (26) for forming an image in accordance with vector signals, the color processing section including a color processor responsive to vector angles in the vector signals to change the hue (ROMs 42, 44, 46), and a brightness processor (54) responsive to amplitudes of the vector signals to change the brightness of the hue. The apparatus also includes a complementary color mixing processor (62) responsive to the third data of the living body obtained from the ultrasonic received signals to mix the hue which is outputted from the color processor with its complementary color. For example, when the motion of the moving reflective member is displayed, the directions of the moving reflective member are indicated with different hues corresponding to vector angles in the vector signals while the velocities of the moving reflective member are represented with different brightnesses corresponding to amplitudes of the vector signals. Furthermore, the third data including velocity deviations and others are displayed with a color saturation obtained by mixing the hue determined by the corresponding vector angle with its complementary color. Therefore, various states of the moving reflective member, that is, the velocity, brightness and direction can easily be observed with changes in the hue. Furthermore, the variance of the velocity represented by the velocity deviations can be observed with changes of the color saturation.

A level discrimination circuit (9) is further provided for discriminating level of the d.c. component detected by the second effective-value detecting circuit. First and second sensitivity-variable amplifiers (10,10') are also provided for varying their sensitivities in accordance with the result of the level discrimination circuit. A dividing circuit (8) divides the d.c. component amplified by the first sensitivity-variable amplifier by the d.c. component amplified by the second sensitivity-variable amplifier, and a voltage hold circuit (11) holds the output of the dividing circuit in accordance with the discrimination result of the level discrimination circuit.
