摘要： A continuous centrifuge for spinning off massecuites comprises a strainer basket (20) which is conically flared toward the top and rotates about a perpendicular axis (16). A product distributor (40) is flared toward the bottom and extends all the way into the bottom region of the strainer basket (20). A distributor crucible (30), which is used as a charging device for the massecuites in the axis region of the centrifuge, is provided inside and in the upper region of the product distributor (40). The circumferential wall of the product distributor (40) is divided into a plurality of annular elements (41, 42, 43), which overlap in the direction of the axis (16) and the inside diameters of which differ from each other. A bell (50) surrounds the product distributor (40) and is conically flared toward the bottom. A device (61, 62) having air guide elements is provided between at least two of the annular elements (41, 42, 43) of the product distributor (40).

摘要： The invention relates to a method for drying protein crystals contained in an aqueous protein crystal suspension. The method is characterized in that the protein crystal suspension is dried in a centrifugal dryer and that after the protein crystals have been extracted from the protein crystal suspension by filtration said protein crystals are preferably transferred into a drying medium which consists of a mixture of water and a non-aqueous solvent which can be mixed with water to any ratio and has a lower vapour pressure than water. A drying gas humidified with water is advantageously used and the protein crystals are advantageously dried in a fluidized bed.

Diese Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, dass in der Verteilerglocke (4) eine Siebhaube (3) angeordnet ist, wobei zwischen der Siebhaube (3) und der Verteilerglocke (4) ein Freiraum (5) ausgebildet ist und sich unterhalb der Siebhaube (3) ein Mischbereich (8) für die Vermischung der abgetrennten Suspensionsflüssigkeit und der an der Siebhaube (3) entlanggeführten Kristallsuspension anschließt.
