A cut-off saw includes a saw housing (2) having a support arm (10) that protrudes outward from the housing front end (3). A blade drive assembly (200) disposed in the support arm (10) includes a gear set (222) and is configured to transmit rotational motion of a motor (101) to the cutting blade (90). A lock handle (284) is pivotably mounted on an outer surface (102) of the support arm (10) and is configured to actuate a locking pin (294). In a folded position, the lock handle (284) is configured so that the locking pin (294) is disengaged from a drive gear whereby the blade drive assembly (200) free to drive the cutting blade (90). In the unfolded position, the lock handle (284) is configured to cam the locking pin (294) into engagement with the drive gear, preventing rotation of the cutting blade (90). The unfolded lock handle (284) serves as a manual grip that permits a user to stabilize the saw while attaching and detaching a cutting blade (90).

A power tool includes a housing and a hook assembly. The hook assembly includes a hook support and a hook member. The hook support is rotatably attached to the housing for rotation about a first axis. The hook member has a shank portion and a hook portion. The shank portion defines a second axis that is transverse to the first axis and is configured to rotate with respect to the hook support about the second axis. The hook portion extends in a radial direction from the shank portion. The rotation of the hook support about the first axis alters an orientation of the shank portion of the hook member with respect to the housing, and the rotation of the shank portion with respect hook support alters the radial direction of the hook portion.

The cover (30) can include a through recess (52) between an inner surface (702) and an outer surface (708). The through-recess (52) being arranged for receiving a threaded member (80) protruding from the tool (10) and extending between an inner opening (704) at the inner surface (702) and an outer opening (706) at the outer surface (708). A threaded nut (60) for engaging the threaded member (80) for tightening the cover (30) to the tool (10) can be included. Additionally, the threaded nut (60) can be attached to the cover (30). The nut (60) can include a radially protruding portion (70) with a larger radius than the inner opening (704) and outer opening (706). The cover (30) can have opposing first and second shoulder portions (712, 714) surrounding the inner opening (704) and outer opening (706).

To provide a work tool capable of suppress temperature rise in a motor or a switching element. The work tool includes: a motor; a switching element switchable between an ON-state and an OFF-state, the switching element allowing a current to flow through the motor during the ON-state, the switching element prohibiting a current from flowing through the motor during the OFF-state; target rotation number setting means for setting a target rotation number of the motor; rotation number controlling means for controlling the motor such that the rotation number thereof is brought in coincidence with the target rotation number by changing an ON-duration, during which the switching element is in the ON-state, in one switching period of the switching element; and temperature detecting means for detecting at least one of a temperature of the motor and a temperature of the switching element. The rotation number controlling means is capable of setting an upper limit with respect to the ON-duration on the basis of the temperature detected by the temperature detecting means and changes the ON-duration within a range not more than the upper limit.
