Abstract: To provide a carbon-neutral biaxially stretched polyamide film containing a raw material derived from biomass and having high heat-resistance, impact resistance, and folding pinhole resistance. To provide a biaxially stretched polyamide film roll having decreased variability in a degree of biomass in the mechanical (longitudinal) direction. A biaxially stretched polyamide film roll comprising a biaxially stretched polyamide film containing 70% by mass to 99% by mass of polyamide 6 resin and 1% by mass to 30% by mass of a polyamide resin in which at least a part of a raw material is derived from biomass, wherein the film roll has a winding length of from 1,000 m to 60,000 m, a width of from 400 mm to 3,000 mm, and variability in a degree of biomass of 15% or less based on radiocarbon 14 C measurement of a biaxially stretched polyamide film sample taken from a surface to a core of the film roll at an interval of 1000 m in an MD direction.

Abstract: Method of manufacturing a continuous-fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite comprising the steps of
a) providing and heating a recycled thermoplastic continuous-fiber tape comprising a first thermoplastic resin to obtain a heated recycled thermoplastic continuous-fiber tape;
b) threading the heated recycled thermoplastic continuous-fiber tape through a first die to obtain an intermediate continuous-fiber thermoplastic material;
c) feeding the intermediate continuous-fiber thermoplastic material through a chamber filled with a second molten thermoplastic resin, wherein the chamber is connected to an extruder;

Abstract: A method of manufacturing PET nurdles comprises the steps of grinding a plurality of recycled PET bottles into a group of polymer flakes and of washing the group of polymer flakes to remove at least a portion of one or more contaminants from a surface of the flakes. The group of flakes comprises a first plurality of flakes that consist essentially of PET and a second plurality of flakes that do not consist essentially of PET. The method comprises the steps of scanning the washed group of flakes to identify the second plurality of flakes, and of separating the second plurality of flakes from the first plurality of flakes. The second plurality of flakes is molten to produce a polymer melt; via providing an extruder that extrudes material in a plurality of different extrusion streams; via reducing a pressure within the extruder to between about 0 millibars and about 25 millibars; while maintaining the pressure within the extruder between about 0 millibars and about 25 millibars, passing the polymer melt through the extruder so that the polymer melt is divided into a plurality of extrusion streams, each having a pressure between about 0 millibars and about 25 millibars. After passing the polymer melt through the extruder, the polymer melt is filtered through at least one filter. The polymer melt is then pelletized to form a plurality of PET nurdles.
