The chain shackle includes two identical shackle halves installable against each other to work together in such a manner that they form between them a first space for one chain loop or chain loop half of the hoist chain to lock it against the hoisting direction or force. The first space is open in a first direction in the longitudinal direction of the chain shackle. A second space is connected to the first space and intended for a second hoist chain loop that is coupled with the first chain loop or is to be coupled with a chain loop half. The second space is open in both longitudinal directions of the hoist chain.

    摘要: A suspension system for a lifeboat comprises a pair of hook assemblies (22) each adapted for connection at spaced locations to a lifeboat and for coupling to the lifting links (14) of a pair of suspension cables. Each hook assembly has a hook member (34) pivoted for movement between a closed setting and an open setting and is of a load over centre design. A single control mechanism (23) is provided for both hook assemblies and is connected thereto by way of a pair of flexible cables (24,25). A primary release mechanism (26,67,68,61) is arranged to pull the cables and so move the hook members to their open settings when the lifeboat is floating. Under emergency conditions when the hook assemblies are heavily loaded, an emergency release mechanism (28,75,72,57) is arranged to move the hook members (34) to their open settings notwithstanding the relatively large load thereon. The emergency release mechanism has a significantly greater mechanical advantage as compared to the primary release mechanism.

    摘要: The lifeboat release mechanism has a hook (32) movably mounted therein. This hook has a concave surface (80) on its lower end. A latch block (56) having a convex surface thereon is also movably mounted therein. In a holding mode, the convex surface of the latch block (56) is laid against the concave surface (80) of the hook. In a release mode, the convex surface is below the concave surface. In a first aspect of the invention, the concave surface extends above and below an axis of rotation of the latch block to prevent an unattended release of the mechanism. In another aspect, the concave surface and the convex surface have a same radius of curvature to prevent localized wear thereon. In a third aspect, the latch lock is rotatable over an angular displacement of 80° between a holding position and a release position, such that the releasing of the mechanism is predictable.

    摘要: A device for suspension and release of a load, especially lifeboats and the like on ships or offshore structures. The device comprises a holding means (5) which is pivotally mounted in a support (1) for attachment to the rescue craft, and in which means a pair of concave gripping rollers (6, 7) are pivotally mounted for engagement with a spherical suspension member (8) at the end of a suspension line. The gripping rollers (6, 7) are articulated to the support (1) by way of respective, force-transferring carrying elements (16, 17), and the holding means (5) is shaped to maintain the gripping rollers (6, 7) in force-dependent, self-blocking engagement with the suspension member (8) when this is loaded and the holding means (5) is in a closing position. A release means for the device comprises an operating arm (22) which is pivotally mounted in the support (1) and may be turned so that the holding means (5) is forcedly driven in an engagement-releasing movement, and which, by means of a safety means (24), is lockable in a position in which the holding means (5) is blocked in the closing position. One (6) of the gripping rollers (6, 7) is movable away from the other gripping roller (7) when the holding means (5) is blocked in the closing position without the suspension member (8) being engaged, so that introduction and reengagement of the suspension member can be effected by a simple one-handed operation.
