    摘要: A fuel tank formed by integrally forming flanges (7f, 8f) at the peripheral edge parts of bowl-like steel sheet-made upper tank half body (7) and lower tank half body (8), and overlappingly joining these flanges (7f, 8f), liquid-tight, to each other. These both flanges (7f, 8f) are fixedly caulked in a roll shape to form an annular thick wall joined part (12), and a pair of annular reinforcement ribs (7r, 8r) arranged continuously with both sides of the joined part (12) are formed on the upper and lower tank half bodies (7, 8). Thus, a sufficient strength can be imparted to the periphery of the joined part of the flanges without increasing the thickness of the steel sheet.

    摘要: A drawn aluminum can shell has a peripheral crown which is double-seamed with an end portion of an aluminum can body to provide a can end having a generally flat center panel connected by a curved panel wall to an inner wall of an annular U-shaped countersink. The countersink has a generally cylindrical outer wall and an inner width less than the radius of the panel wall. The outer wall of the countersink connects with a lower wall portion of a frustoconical chuckwall at a junction below the center panel, and an upper wall portion of the chuckwall extends to an inner wall of the crown at an angle of at least 16 DEG with the center axis. In one embodiment, the chuckwall has an intermediate generally vertical short riser portion connecting the wall portions, and the inner bottom width of the countersink is less than .040 inch.

    摘要: A can end having a countersink bead (25), an inclined chuck wall (24) and a strong seam, resists distortion from its circular profile when subjected to thermal processing or when packaging carbonated beverages. This high hoop strength affects the manner in which the can end ultimately fails when placed under extreme abuse conditions, even if buckle pressure performance is within industry specified standards. The can end of the invention has weakened regions introduced which control the failure mode whilst maintaining specified buckle pressure performance. In one embodiment, the weakened region comprises expansion of the countersink bead to act as a trigger for local peaking, together with a groove in the chuck wall which prevents the peaking force from being concentrated at a single point which could result in leaking by the production of a pin hole.

Anschließend wird auf dem Öffnungsrand (6) des Faßmantels (2) ein Spunddeckel oder ein einfacher Deckel mit einem Spannring befestigt.
