The method comprises the following steps: producing a hub (11) by winding reinforcing fibres around a generally tubular support (12); producing at least one sleeve (14); securing the hub (11) at one end of the sleeve (14), transversely thereto, in order to form a mandrel; applying one or more layers of reinforcing fibres (21) braided around said mandrel using a machine for braiding reinforcing fibres (19); and injecting and polymerising the resin in the layer(s) of braided fibres (21). The invention is particularly suitable for an arm forming an aircraft landing gear rocker arm.

The reinforcement is characterized by a three over, three under braid pattern. The apparatus comprises a Maypole type braider wherein each driver (42) of the braider includes six pockets (78 and 79) to accommodate carrier spindles, and the number of carriers (66) is three times the number of drivers. The invention provides an improved braided product which can be produced at lower cost with increased output.

The present invention discloses an integrated braiding and needle punching preform forming method, comprising the following steps: arranging gripping devices at both ends of a braiding machine, allowing a mandrel to move in a certain direction along the axis of the braiding machine while forming a first layer of fabric on a surface of the mandrel; then laying felt on top of the first layer of fabric by using an automatic felt laying device, and employing a needle punching device to perform pre-needle punching on the felt layer to ensure the felt adheres to the braided fabric surface; restarting the braiding machine, moving the mandrel in an opposite direction while forming a second layer of fabric on a surface of the felt; repeating the above steps to achieve multiple layers of braided fabric and felt in alternate adhesion; finally, performing main needle punching on the preform by using the automatic needle punching device to further enhance the Z-direction reinforcement of the preform. The present invention provides a preform forming device for implementing the integrated braiding and needle punching preform forming method.

The invention is referred to the method of making wicker constructions and is meant for producing wicker constructions which later can be used for interior decoration of buildings as heating radiators screens, light partitions, wall and ceiling panels and also as furniture elements and door-panels. The technical result of the invention lies in decreasing efforts which are necessary for making wickering and also increasing toughness and carrying ability of wicker constructions. The method of making wicker constructions bases on the fact that elements (2) of construction are wickered among themselves for all that the elements (2) are placed into construction along two, predominantly mutually perpendicular directions. The straps with corrugated profile are used as elements of construction placed by wickering as minimum along one direction. And moreover, the elements of construction crossing the straps with corrugated profile are placed into depressions of these straps. 4 dependent point of claims, 13 illustrations.
