    摘要: In a double chainstitch sewing machine, a movable thread guide 37 is fixed to the lower end of a needle bar 1. A fixed thread guide 41 and a thread take-up cam 39 are fixed to a jaw 43a of a sewing machine arm 43. The thread take-up cam 39 has a cam section to be engaged with needle threads 51a, 51b from the fixed thread guide 41 to the movable thread guide 37, and takes up the needle threads oscillating up and down by vertical motion of the movable thread guide 37. Thread take-up members such as movable thread guide 37, fixed thread guide 41, and thread take-up cam 39 are disposed centrally at the lower end of the needle bar near the needle and in the jaw 43a of the sewing machine arm 43. As a result, there is no member for thread take-up moving at the upper side and front side of the sewing machine arm, and dangerous positions for the operator can be decreased. Further, the thread pathway length from the workpiece to the thread tension device is shortened, and the effects of thread stretch of properties can be decreased.

    摘要: An automatic needle thread supply control system having a pair of clamping members (152A) disposed between the needle thread supply source and the needle thread take-up member (138), for clamping and releasing the needle thread (114). The moment when the clamping members start moving apart from each other and the period in which the clamping members are held apart from each other are controlled by control means according to the thickness of the work fabric or the thickness of the needle thread. While the clamping members are separated from each other, the needle thread is supplied from the needle thread supply source without restraint as the work fabric is fed. The needle thread is thus supplied under a tension conforming to the type of the work fabric in tight­ening the needle thread. During the free supply of the needle thread, the thread take-up member is held at the uppermost position, and hence the needle thread of an amount corresponding to the needle thread demand of the shuttle is supplied properly. After the supply of the needle thread has been accomplished, the clamping members are engaged to clamp the needle thread to prevent the excessive supply of the needle thread, while the thread take-up member starts its motion in phase with the vertical reciprocatory motion of the needle. To control the motion of the clamping mem­bers according to the thickness of the needle thread instead of the thickness of the work fabric, the control means is provided with proportional control means for engaging and for disengaging the clamping members at a speed proportional to the rotating speed of the arm shaft (128) of the sewing ma­chine,

    摘要: A laser beam scanning device (17) is provided for monitoring for thread breakage in tufting machines (31) in which a carrier web (16) is passed from below to a spiked roller (11) and is deflected by the spiked roller into a substantially horizontal direction so that it can be passed beneath a row of needles (12). The row of needles (12) periodically introduce threads into the carrier web (16) by up and down movement in order to form tufted material. A narrow retro- reflecting strip (14) is arranged directly below and behind the tips of the needles and directly above the tufted material (15) parallel to the row of needles (12) and substantially at right angles to the surface of the tufted material. The scanned light beam (18) is regularly interrupted by the threads which pass through the needles (13) when the needles are in the elevated open position and, after reflection at the retroreflecting strip (14) and other optical elements is received by a photoelectric receiver (19) where it generates an AC output signal. If one of the threads is broken then the scanning beam (18) is not interrupted at this position and this is recognised in the output signal from the light receiver (19).
