    摘要： A two-stroke internal combustion engine has a crankshaft disposed at least in part in a crankcase, and a cylinder block connected to the crankcase and defining a cylinder. The cylinder defines at least one exhaust port for discharging exhaust fluid. A piston is movably disposed within the cylinder and is operatively connected to the crankshaft. The piston is movable along a cylinder axis in a reciprocating motion including an upstroke and a downstroke. An exhaust valve assembly is operatively connected to and rotates with the crankshaft. The exhaust valve assembly has a shaft rotatably supported by the cylinder block and a valve configured to cyclically obstruct the exhaust port. The valve is operable to move clear of the exhaust port before the piston uncovers the exhaust port during its downstroke, and at least partially close the exhaust port before the piston fully covers the exhaust port during its upstroke.

    摘要： An internal combustion engine (1) comprises an engine cylinder (2) and a cylinder inlet passage (4) which cyclically communicate with each other via an inlet valve (3), an air inlet (5) and a rotary valve (6). The rotary valve (6) has a housing (7) including a first port (8) which is in fluid connection with one of the air inlet (5) and the cylinder inlet passage (4) and a second port (9) which is in fluid connection with the other one of the air inlet (5) and the cylinder inlet passage (4). The rotary valve (6) has also a rotatable hollow air guide cylinder (10), which is mounted in the housing (7) and drivable with respect to the housing (7) about an axis of rotation (12). The air guide cylinder (10) has a first aperture (15) in a cylindrical wall thereof which cyclically passes the second port (9) under operating conditions and a second aperture (17) through which the first aperture (15) communicates with the first port (8). The engine comprises a control system which is provided with a curved valve plate (11) which is disposed in the housing (7) at the axial position of the first aperture (15) along the axis of rotation (12) and which extends concentrically with respect to the air guide cylinder (10). The rotational position of the valve plate (11) with respect to the housing (7) is adjustable about the axis of rotation (12).
