    摘要： An apparatus (100) for regulating a torque limiter, comprising a resilient member (130) configured to exert a force on one or more components of the torque limiter, wherein the force exerted by the resilient member (130) adjusts a torque limit of the torque limiter in use, a movable abutment (180) configured to contact the resilient member (130) and translatable in an axial direction to vary the force exerted by the resilient member (130), a nut (170) rotatable about the axis and configured to contact the movable abutment (180) such that a given rotational position of the nut (170) corresponds to a given axial position of the movable abutment (180), and an anti-rotation member (160) configured to move between first and second positions. In the first position the anti-rotation member (160) prevents rotational movement of the nut (170) and, in turn, prevents axial movement of the movable abutment (180), and in the second position the anti-rotation member (160) does not prevent rotational movement of the nut (170) and permits rotation of the nut (170) and, in turn, axial movement of the movable abutment (180) to vary the force exerted by the resilient member (130).

    摘要： A torque overload clutch (10), in one form, comprises outer and inner members. A recess (82) is formed in the outer member and a radial opening is formed in the inner member. A driving member (66) is slideably captured in the opening to move between an extended, engaged position with the recess and a retracted, disengaged position. An actuator ring (68) is urged by a spring (88,90) into engagement with the driving member to bias the driving member toward the engaged position. An end of the driving member may engage the recess to define an engagement angle (148) that is approximately between thirty-four degrees and seventy-degrees relative to a radially oriented reference. The driving member may be slideably captured in a liner seated in the opening, and one or both may be impregnated with a lubricant. A bearing (28,30,34) may be positioned between the inner and outer members to inhibit relative movement there between along the clutch axis.

The face-to-floor gears within the device provide superior heat management capabilities, thereby reducing ablation and melting as compared to traditional gear arrangements.
