摘要: The invention provides a flashlight with a signal lamp, which is suitable for miniaturization and is easy to operate. A cylindrical sliding body (20) is fitted onto an upper outer portion of a body (10) which receives therein a cell or cells. When the sliding body (20) is slid in a vertical direction, the entire flashlight extends or contracts. A colorless transparent plate (24) and a reflecting plate (25) are provided within a cylindrical portion (21) for an illuminating lamp, such that when the entire flashlight contracts, a bulb (40) is positioned within the cylindrical portion (21) for an illuminating lamp to permit us to use the flashlight as an upward (in the figure) illuminating lamp. When the entire flashlight extends, scattered light is provided by a cylindrical portion (22) which is for a signal lamp and is formed of a red, transparent plastics, so that the flashlight can be used as a signal lamp. The cylindrical portion (22) for a signal lamp is formed inside with a groove (22C), in which an engagement projection (13C) of a rotary switch (13) is fitted. Rotation of the sliding body (20) can cause an ON/OFF action of the rotary switch (13) to thereby turn on and off the bulb (40).

The switch includes a switch body (56) securable to the housing and actuator means (68, 120, 130, 140, 172, 72, 76, 74) axially movable relative to the switch body for electrically coupling and uncoupling an electrode (34A, 34B) of the batteries to one of the terminals of the lamp bulb to thereby switch the lamp bulb on and off. The actuator means is also rotatably movable relative to the switch body for preventing axial movement of the actuator means and thereby locking the flashlight in the on state.

The supply from a power source (34) to a light source (12) includes a frangible conductive element (132) in the conductive path to the light source (12). The conductive element (132) is provided on a torch glass (128), so that if the glass (128) breaks, the power supply to lamp (12) will be cut off, thereby eleminating the risk of sparks, and exposure of the hot lamp element to atmosphere.
The torch also has a switch (22) and relays (38, 40) enabling batteries of the power source (34) to be switched between series and parallel arrays, enabling the torch to operate at full or low power.

摘要: A safety torch is divided into a battery compartment (1) and a sealed, in use, switching and lamp compartment (2) separable therefrom. The compartments are electrically connected by fixed connections (9,10,11) passing sealingly through a common wall of the two compartments. The switching and lamp compartment (2) is openable but automatically sealingly lockable, and a tool may be provided to enable the lock to be opened. The switching and lamp compartment is considered to be an "increase safety" enclosure and the battery compartment an "intrinsic safety" enclosure. Switching a lamp (15) of the torch on or off may be accomplished by relative movement between two parts of the switching compartment.

摘要: The present invention provides an easy and cheap to construct flashlight (10), intended to be disposable after the batteries (110, 120) have been drained. It is constructed from a housing (75, 85), two standard batteries (110, 120), a lamp (100) and a user-operable pressure switch (130). The batteries each have an end terminal (111) and a casing terminal, are so arranged that an opposite terminal of each is in direct contact with the lamp (100) and are preferably in an offset, side-by-side relationship. The pressure switch (130) is so designed that the lighting circuit is completed when pressure is employed on a deformable part of the housing (75, 85).
